Looks like no Alisson or Thiago today

Alisson sure does seem injury prone for a goalkeeper

IDK, he's dropping hints on social media that he'll start today.

LINK

ETA: Several reports on Twitter (not from anyone official) saying both passed today's fitness tests, and both will be in the line up

Wow that would be HUGE. Thiago being able to break them down sitting back would be a game changer

ETA David Maddock tweeted Alisson could be cleared but Thiago is likely out so Fab would move back to midfield

Yeah, so they were half right... Alisson starts, by no Thiago.

I think we'll be okay for today

Very impressed with the team today. Excited with Jota as well off the bench. He has great potential.

I’ve been hardcore fanboying over Jota. We now have a legit relief goal scorer who can also create for others.

Thiago was always going to be stellar, but holy shite having extra scoring ability and creativity is going to take us a LONG way in the UCL, and possibly get us a double or treble if all works out well.

If we could sign a CB I would argue that we’re the team to beat in every competition we play in this season.

Thoughts..

Mane is an absolute monster... all over the pitch!

Fab bossed it at CB and DM in back to back matches!

Gomez put in a top notch performance!

Ali is back to his best..

Honestly, the only two minor criticisms are Robbos error and we should have scored at least 5 or 6.. at least..

Want to see Jota, Tsimikas, Taki, Shaq, and Jones start on Thursday!

Yep. Outside of the Robbo error, which he atoned for, that was about as complete a game as I’ve seen us play. Score did not reflect how one sided it was. The fact we can keep that quality up with players off the bench is amazing too. Love this squad.

It was especially nice to see coming off the restart performances.. and conventional thinking that we may not be as hungry this year...

I think the 2 defeats in a row to Arsenal, prob had the guys up for it too!

Gini’s looked like a man possessed since we signed Thiago

Mané came out with his intensity through the roof

I know Jota’s a hell of a player on his day and the knock on him was consistency, but he slotted right in and was constantly involved the moment he came on. If he does that consistently then he’s a perfect fit

I think his game will elevate, simply by the players around him... he didnt look timid at all... In fact, he had a simple square ball to Bobby, but he chose to shoot!

Yeah, I'd think so, I think the quarantine time is down to 10 days now for players and then a negative test.

And to think we were all complaining about no business lol.

Not to get ahead of ourselves but this team is setup to be NASTY.

Fingers crossed our back line stays healthy but I think the plan all along is to be able to slot Fabinho back there if necessary now that we've signed Thiaggo. We really don't need Fabinho playing DM with Thiaggo and a combo of Henderson, Gini, Milner against lesser sides.

Crazy how many options we suddenly have with Minimon, Jota and the youngsters etc.

I think Curtis Jones could be primed for a bigger role this year too tbh... He's looked pretty good early on in whatever minutes he's gotten.

I assume he'll play all 90 tomorrow
