Williams not playing well at all is drowning out any potential impact Elliott could have on the right side. It’s making the game easy for Shrewsbury to control.

Chirivella has been a MotM candidate thus far; alongside Jones.

Minamino looks a bit out of sorts, but he is playing with kids he hasn’t spent a lot of time with yet. I will say, the linkage between him and Chirivella has been great.

Matip doesn’t seem too terribly rusty, I think it is just him being alongside Lovren.

Larouci has shown great ability to make runs into the box, but he gets nervy one-v-one out around the corner of the pitch. Made a few good and important possession saves though.

ETA: Not trying to say Williams is a bad player, just not having a good night.

Yeah William's hasn't had his best night so far, but this whole squad looks a little disjointed honestly... at this point though I'd assume we'll progress pretty easily. If we can get a decent draw, no reason we can't make a run deep into this tournament

Our 1st squad players playing so bad that the youngsters are reacting in desperation to cover for them.

Yeah, pretty much every one of their free charges upfield have been undefended straight up the middle.

Personally if the match ended a draw I wouldn’t care because that would just mean the youngsters could get another run out soon... LOSING, however, would be stupid.

No kidding.

I still think we need another quality CB. Not based off this match, of course.

CBs for the youngster-laden squad FA Cup win over PL squad Everton: Nate Phillips and Joe Gomez.

Clean sheet.

CBs for the youngster-laden squad FA Cup draw with League One squad Shrewsbury: Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren.

Nightmarish.

In all fairness, this was both of their first game back and they aren't match fit yet... but that was abysmal...

when is the replay?

I just did an admittedly cursory check on the rematch date and I can't find anything, so I guess maybe it hasn't been announced yet.

Edit: Just found where it will be either February 5th or 6th, which means it is the weekend right in the middle of the February international break which will rightly make Klopp pretty unhappy.

Jurgen Klopp says that no senior players will be involved in the FA Cup fourth round replay and he won’t manage the team. Neil Critchley will be in charge #LFC

Yeah, I kinda imagined something like that would be Klopp's response.

He's going to be criticized heavily for this... and I cant say its not undeserving.. I dont like the decision...
