Wow. Just finished the game. Holy shite that was nerve wracking. Shaq was the difference maker for sure even aside from the great free kick. Sturridge looked great if a little out of sync, except for the shot he failed to put on target. Mane should have done better. Virgil redeemed himself from midweek. Trent was fantastic and Makes me wonder what could have been at the camp nou with him in the side. Divock with the late winner again deserves praise. Hard to give a motm, great team performance and nobody let us down.

Gonna have to disagree with you about Studge. Great back-heel to set up the winning goal, but other than that he was a detriment to the squad.
And, as usual, TAA was fantastic on the front-foot but a detriment on the back-foot. I'm wondering if one day, before Klopp retires, he'll make TAA an offensive MF.
I'm with ya on everything else though.

I thought Studge was ok. Breaks didn’t die with him today, like his last time out. Had some nice passes but some bad touches as well. The fact that he didn’t get that open look on target was disappointing. He definitely deserves some credit for his involvement in the second goal.
He’s probably gone in the summer but I’ll always like him. He has been robbed of his speed by injury.
It’s saturday night and I like the way you move Divock Origi,...

Is there some way to offload Lovren? With Gomez and Matip along with an academy player we should be able to move on from him.

Klopp confirmed that Firmino and Salah are both out tomorrow... Said Salah will be back for Sunday though.
Just don't see how we're bagging 4 goals without those two

What line up do we even bring out? No Salah, no Bobby, no Keita. I’m assuming Shaq will be on for Salah, but can Origi put in 70+ minutes...do we even want him to?
Then in the back, what’s the chances Klopp puts TAA back on at RB and maybe Gomez back to center with VVD? Be interesting to see what we put out there.

If I were manager I'd go:
TAA-Gomez-VVD-Robbo
Hendo-Fab-Ox
Shaq-Brewster-Mane
Silver lining is we give Brewster a chance to live up to the hype on a massive stage.
If we still need goals, bring Origi on for Hendo (drop Shaq a little deeper)

What about a 4-2-3-1 with
Allisson
TAA Matip/Gomez VVD Robbo
Fabs Milner
Hendo Gini Shaq
Mane
I could live with that lineup.

That'd be interesting too... I like Gini for Milner though and slot in Ox somewhere (Milner gets burned a lot in his old age)

I like giving Brewster a chance here if he’s fit to play 90. There’s no pressure and if he does more than tread water m, makes you hopeful he can contribute next year

I’d stick with 4-3-3
I think you have to go with Mane, Origi, and Shaq up top
I know Origi’s mostly played on the left, but Mane looked super dangerous on the wing so I’d keep him there and put Origi in the middle
I’d go with Fab, Hendo and Milner in midfield. Milner was one of our better players in the first leg so I’d let him have another go. No way Ox is ready for a start physically so I wouldn’t even risk it
I think you have to put Trent at RB just for his potential goal contributions
I would probably stick with Matip because o thought he played well for the most part but I wouldn’t be opposed to Gomez getting the start. He surprised me, just because I was skeptical he would be ready and on form after missing so much time
Not expecting anything at all from the second leg, but Klopp had a quote from his prematch press conference I 100% agree with
“If we can do it, wonderful. If we can’t, let’s fail in the most beautiful way”

Yeah that quote is absolutely how I feel... and the x factor is clearly the Anfield crowd.

I think AOC has gotta start. If we want an early goal we’re gonna need creativity, and Barca don’t really have anybody that can deal with his athleticism. Pull him at half time if needed.

I know we have reason for optimism for the future. But GOD frickING DAMN IT.
Posted on 5/6/19 at 4:51 pm to SetTheMood
fricking cursed! We would win this league 99/100 times. But not this year.

Actually 25 out of 27 to be exact.

He probably won’t play. Sounds like he strained/pulled something in the Newcastle warmup. Also, Brewster will be in the squad according David Maddock.
I am annoyed by all this love for Suarez. What did he do for the club that is better/different than Sterling? He went to Spain is the only difference in my mind. Not comparing the players and abilities, just what they brought the club.
