Never want those frickers to win, but no way they can catch us.. I'd like some distance between us and Spurs..
On the bright side, if they keep winning, they *may* be convinced to keep that twat as manager (highly doubtful).. I only give it a tiny chance because they have been terribly run on the football side since Slur Alex left..

Spurs nine back is what we want. United are a non entity right now.

I hope United plays that open against us. We will pick those sorry bastards off.

I was thinking the same thing as I watched the match.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is facing four weeks on the sidelines with injury. Wijnaldum is also a doubt for Palace. [Paul Joyce]
I'm guessing we'll make do with a patchwork RB... Milner/Camacho.. maybe Fabinho/Gomez when healthy.. not the toughest stretch in the league, but Bayern looming.. and already without VVD in the first leg..

Just saw that. I know it could be worse with injuries and timing but just seems like we’re getting hit with everything at once
At least Matip is back and Gomez should be soon

Can’t just start Clyne at RB?

Posted on 1/15/19 at 7:48 am to jordan21210
Some may disagree but, in Klopp's system, Gomez and Fabinho are already better RBs than Clyne, both solid defensively and both easily better on the front-foot. Liverpool has CP + an 11 day break coming up and Gomez is supposed to be available after that break.
Add on to the top of that the fact that, since Klopp has been managing Liverpool, most players bought have seen extensive time watching from the bench before Klopp trusts them on the pitch.
Plus the fact that we also have Milner and Camacho (as mentioned above).
We're fine.
"Buy! Buy! Buy!" is all well and good if you just want to see players either not get selected or sit on the bench.

That may be true, but they’re both better in their natural position. We’re forced to sacrifice them their because we no longer have an actual backup right back. Gómez is still out. Dejan is still out. Fabinho is one of two healthy players that can play CB today. Milner is our last option at right back unless we slide Gini in at CB. The more we move midfielders to the back, the less skill we have in midfield.
I guess we could play Bobby at wingback if necessary. That is where he started under Rodgers after all
The injuries are really mounting up. We are deep in the midfield, but dangerously thin at the back and dangerously thin at forward.

Injuries are mounting...Klopp has remained true to his principals that he doesn't buy in the January window.
This is our best shot at the PL crown in a LONG long time, please don't let that pride be our downfall...
A versatile defender who can play across RB or CB, maybe even step into the midfield if needed, would be such a valuable asset...Fabinho can't be the only one we've ever scouted...

Things I never thought I'd hear Liverpool fans say for $1000 Alex

Remaining fixture difficulty for the Top 6 (via Liverpool reddit):

Posted on 1/15/19 at 11:23 am to beatbammer
Minus the Man U game, those are all very very winnable fixtures.
Likely will drop some points to one of Chelsea or Tottenham but I'd expect draw at worst.
Long as we keep plugging away and take care of business, things really setup well for us.
Pray the injury bug gets out of our clubhouse soon.

You could almost feel this coming when we let Clyne go. And I’d rather our players play in their positions then get used to playing out of position unless it’s Milner.

Watched a couple of "wrap up" videos of the Man City-Wolves match where the analysts were justifying the Boly red card (fair) but, at the same time when the Kompany tackle on Salah was mentioned, tried to explain how that was "different" and wasn't a red card.
Here's the only difference: though the tackles were pretty much exactly the same, Salah had more wherewithal to get the eff out of the way.
I hate the entire concept in ANY sport that similar behavior/violations from players on one team to the other should be treated differently because of who the damn teams are.

I dont think we've seen Fabinho as a RB in Klopp's system yet... Gomez still needs to get back to fitness..
I think we may be fine, and I dont necessarily think we need to buy a RB, but keeping Clyne until the end of the season... in a title fight.. isn't an unreasonable thought.. let him go in the summer when we have time to reassess the squad..
He's gone, so we do with what we have.. he clearly wasn't in Klopp's future plans..
We are just dangerously thin across the backline and any recovery setbacks or further injuries could be huge..

I thought the same thing when watching... I could see the argument that both were yellow.. but they warranted the same punishment..
It's funny how now that we are threatening for the title... the collective mentality of the other fanbases is that we are divers or that the refs are giving us all the calls... its rather amusing how bad they dont want us to win it or at best believe it its somehow tainted..

Didn’t England play Jordan Henderson at RB some amount a few years ago? Maybe we could kick the tires on that if need be
I figure we’ll see Milner there or maybe even Fabinho if Matip is fit to play this weekend
