I said the transfer window was a failure because we didn't fix the main issue. I don't care how good you are going forward if your Defense gives up cheap goals you will have no trophies being added to the case. It really is mind boggling how the defense keeps getting ignored. Oh well, we'll be involved in some crazy arse games.

Plus, yesterday Sevilla had 3 shots on goal. That tells me that, overall, our defensive organization wasn't that bad.
Its the individual derp mistakes that netted 2 of those 3 shots that killed us yesterday and kill us every time.

I like Hendo and defend him, but I'd be okay with him going into the squad rotation... and us adding a real holding mid.. He def isn't undroppable.. In our current squad, the only player that benches him is Can...

Not defending him, cause he sucks... but Lovren's first frick up was just a one off whiff.. it happens. Defensively he was in position to make an easy clearance... but it is just another in a long line of fricks ups from him... He has to go.. But he's on a new deal at 100k/wk... So, we're stuck with him... he just needs to be 4th/5th choice...
We need a minimum of two CBs... Hopefully, VVD... and someone to challenge Matip for that other spot...

Seeing reports we may go back in for De Vrij in Jan.. he can sign a pre-contract then, but may be available for cheap so Lazio can get something for him...

I'm with Henry on Ox. Dude needs to show something.
Feel like he's been in the league for 8 years and hasn't really ever truly stood out.
Will be interesting to see how we use him but he's someone we absolutely didn't need.

I think he is good depth and adds to the squad... With our current group of players I don't see him being a nailed on starter week in and out..

it's not that i don't like hendo, he's just fricking slow as christmas and gets beat quite a lot. Ox is a fantastic athlete with pace to spare, hence why i think it would be a perfect substitution until we can get keita.

We already could probably use a true destroyer in midfield so I doubt we're gonna take off the only thing we have close to that to put on another attack minded player.
I have no problem with Henderson. Sure he could be better defending but he's not near as bad as some people say I think. Yes, he would probably work better as part of a pivot, but that's just not our system. And our system is partly to blame too. There's gonna be openings to attack us, but we have to do better closing down and not giving up such easy chances.

De Vrij has injury issues, right? While the talent is there, I'd rather have someone we could rely upon.
Hendo and Ox are definitely not subs for eac hother. Of course, Hendo could be out, Can drop to the 6 and Ox be one of the 8s. But they don't replace eachother specifically.
Ox will play either 8 and both wings. He'll start plenty of games - no way Salah, Mane etc. can start 60 games this year. Hell, I'll be pissed if ether starts more than 45-47 or so.
Will be interesting to see our lineup without Mane this weekend - Cou in on the wing or in midfield Ox in wing or midfield? Or go more of a Studge diamond type formation?

I like the idea of Ox on the wing and Phil in MF better than your other options. Keep Bobby at the false 9 too.
