does Ox go with 13, which is the closest to his 15, or does he go with the sleeker 4?

Alexis Sanchez is staying at Arsenal. That is the message from the club and it would now be a shock if there were to be any late turns to this infernal saga (it takes a toll, you know!). Manchester City came in earlier today with a second offer for the Chile striker – of £55m, plus £5m in add-ons – but it has come down to Arsenal being able to sign a new attacking player. Quite simply, they look to have run out of time on that front. They wanted Monaco’s Thomas Lemar and the French club demanded that they pay 100m euros for him. Which Arsenal indicated they were willing to do. But there appears to be insufficient time for Arsenal to now agree a package with Lemar, particularly as he is in the France squad for this evening’s game against Holland – which kicks off in about three hours. Were Arsenal able to get Lemar, they would have been inclined to take the £60m from City for Sanchez. But it is unlikely to happen now.

Looks like today will be a dud. Oh well.

I like Ox and think that was big for more depth at CM and on the wings.

I really like Lemar but recognize that would've been icing on the cake. A little disappointed we didn't upgrade at CB. Surprised we didn't make a move for Howedes with the VVD situation.

That's a bummer... Still fricking pissed at SOTON for their unwillingingness to sell even after VVD's transfer request.

I hope we kick the shite out of them every time we cross paths this season, no fricking mercy run up the goals

I'm pisses that our board/manager is so incompetent that they never moved on to a plan B.

frick, offer £100m and make them say no. Stop pussyfooting around with this "we're waiting for them to let us know we can bid" bullshite.

I think we have different definitions of incompetent... I'd call that stubborn, not incompetent.

Regardless of this VVD saga, my opinion is that we've actually had a really solid window, and if we keep our goals in tact for the next 4 months, you go in hard for VVD in January to push you through to what you want to accomplish.

All that being said, there are still 4 hours to get shite done this window (I doubt anything will happen) so we'll see

yeah, Klopp seems to only want one CB.. VVD... I imagine he'll get him eventually, but this was the summer to upgrade Lovren...

I mean he was everyones top choice, but after 3 months... Just about anyone is an upgrade over Lovren, though I understand not settling..

I'd have like to seen us throw ££ at Napoli for Koulibaly... He would have been an excellent plan B

I still like our other moves.. and locking up Keita for next year..

We'll just have to out score everyone

Palace signed a CB earlier today, so I don't think they're interested any more...

Any chance after this window closes without us getting VVD that somehow Sakho gets back into the fold?

He'd be an upgrade over Lovren

Reddit is hurting my brain right now... People are pissed that we "only signed depth/rotation players" this window.

Like isn't that a good problem to have? Means your starting XI is pretty good (and ours is outside of our shite CB)

and Salah... he's looking to be a pretty good fricking bargain too..

Every other post on LFC reddit is some stupid meme or other bullshite... it used to be pretty decent...

Yeah, for the second year running we've gotten a bargain on our front line (Salah, Mane)...

And look, I have faith in Klopp at this point to take us where we need to go, as I mentioned above, even without a CB to replace Lovren, I still think we can advance in the CL given the group we have, then swoop in and take VVD in january

I know it's wishful thinking, but I was thinking the same of Sakho... at least a stop gap until we can get in VVD...

We need to move him or play him... it's not fair to him if we don't...
