How dumb are RBL for not just selling this season
If he proves to be the difference in making CL again next year and getting out of group stage this year it will mean much more money that the difference in fees (not to even consider attracting new signings, ticket sales, making fans happy etc. . . )

Agreed on Ox.
Always thought he was super English over rated. He'd probably uphappy on our bench most of the time anyway. Don't see him playing over our top attacking options.
Is VdV just a pipe dream at this point?

I actually like Ox, but he'd definitely just be there for depth. Give me Lemar over him every day of the week. Now we'd have to pay for it. Monaco already rejected two bids for him, and supposedly we want either one before the window closes. Hopefully we can get it done but I figured it wouldn't be easy after Monaco's sold so many people this summer

Mostly agree. Just think we can do a lot better with 35-40M.
Sounds like our little saga is going to go down to the wire.

Anfield HQ @AnfieldHQ The priorities now are Virgil Van Dijk (£70m) and Thomas Lemar (£75m). Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (£35m) remains an alternative. (Dominic King)

VVD is probably going to come down to deadline day, read something today about the saga, basically said LFC can't make an offer until SOTON changes their "He's not for sale stance" because if we did it'd look shitty after the whole apology mess...
Can't imagine their stance stays the same with that number hovering out there though

Is he still separating himself from the team?

Twitter verse is popping off that we have medicals booked in tomorrow and that VVD is being wrapped up. Trying to stay calm but this is looking good for us boys

Has to mean Cou is gone right?

You know, the moment I saw the Lemar links, I thought he had to be. But most reliable journos are staying steadfast in the belief that he stays. I could honestly see him going, but if we bag Lemar and VVD and then have Keita coming in next year, I cannot complain. That's about as good as we could replace someone like him.

Also, what is the point of doing a medical a calendar year before a transfer?
Posted on 8/28/17 at 8:12 pm to STLhog
I think it's because he has actually physically signed a contract with us, meaning we needed to know his physical details/background before making that commitment.
