How can you not love that man... He's exactly what we needed, hope we become the steamroller both domestically and on the continent like he envisioned

I mean you showed up in your rivals thread acting like a know it all prick, essentially defending the honor of Ramos.
If we wanted your opinion, we could seek it elsewhere.
"Safe space"...lol. No, we just don't care to have pricks troll when we're talking. Is it really that hard for you to not be part of every thread? The tiresome thing about your act is when you troll and then play like you're here trying to knowledgeably talk (down to everyone else).

At least McCraigBro is an honest troll without any pretensions.
The guys who want to pretend that all they really want is some "honest discussion" and "straight talk" while they drop bombs right and left, like StraighCash and WarSlam, are the real died in the wool assholes.

t was a good, fun season but ultimately a failure.
The only way you could call this season a failure is you were all or nothing for a trophy. By every measure great progress was made - CL two years in a row which has been hard for us to do. Make the CL final. Improved our offense. Improved our defense.
Progress on all fronts. Head into the window and improve a few positions and depth and lets see what kind of run we can make next year.
The deep CL run can only help with recruitment.
That being said - we need to get over the hump on a trophy asap.

Well and perfectly stated.
In these first couple of Klopp years, he has not really prioritized any attention to domestic cups and I don't really blame him.
If he and FSG can provide the depth needed for the squad we're all hoping for this summer, I think we'll see Klopp begin to juggle all the balls in the air at once.
(I hope.)

How do you feel about Stan Collymore's Tweet?
Posted on 5/27/18 at 4:07 pm to BlackCoffeeKid
Well - there's a crisis coming for Spurs with the wage structure and contracts. And there may be some room to take advantage of that. I'm sure they are hoping the Spanish giants come in for 2-3 players so that they don't weaken themselves and strengthen a domestic rival. I also am not sure we want to hand them 150m.

Exactly.
It's definitely a short-term vs long term situation.
Almost worth the gamble, but I don't think you're getting those 3 for 150-mil from Levy.
(...admittedly I had a good chuckle at how he hints at that Toby would be a backup to Lovren)

I think there are likely easier roads to the same quality than trying to buy-out a domestic rival.
But I like the impudence.

The way JK has operated he probably has the guys he wants lined up and we will make a serious effort to get all of his targets. Klopp will not pay outrageous fees and will only truly spend big on HIS targets. I think we have some Plan B’s but he will not reach if it cannot get done. We will do smart business while all around us our competitors will be spending massive amounts of money on the likes of Gareth Bale. I’m not saying a guy like that isn’t worth the money (bicycle kick anyone) but when the smoke clears the Manchester clubs and Chelsea will have once again spent a small fortune while Klopp will continue to build one of the best sides in Europe. The difference is that we have been and will continue to be patient and not feel like every window should be a half billion spent. This team is missing only a few pieces (GK and DM?) at this point.

I think Klopp doesn't mind spending the money now. But its going to be for the guy he thinks will fit best. Not just for the next guy down the line.
WE might spend 200m this window. 60m for Fekir. 60m for Allison. 40m for a back-up attacker. Plus 50 for Keita.
Plus another 10-20m for two Robinson type players that Klopp thinks he can mold.
GK, DM, another player who can play all three attacking positions, and depth.
ETA - and another CB. I wouldn't mind that, but I have to figure we aren't spending 40m on a CB now that GK has become a priority.

Bascombe and Joyce both put out articles today that we’re still eyeing Allison. Have a feeling that might be like the VvD situation where we try to push it through but just don’t know if we will be able to considering them sounding reluctant to sell. Although that could just be all talk to keep his price tag up. I’m not sure if their financial situation is much better than last year when they were basically forced to sell us Salah
They also both mentioned Fekir as a target (obviously) and a #6. With Jorginho our of the picture, will be interested to see who’s next on the list
I honestly don’t see us going for a CB this year because Klopp seems fine with what he’s got with how Lovren’s stepped up and Matip was one of his guys.
Not sure if we’ll do anything at striker because we have so many names, albeit no real good ones, but again he might have faith of continuing to mold them because they’re all still pretty young.
Fekir and Ox will both be able to play a little on the wing I’d think, but we have to go after another true winger for depth also. I’d like to see Wilson stick around to get minutes, but he’s more in a Coutinho/Fekir mold as opposed to a Salah/Mane type player that we could use as well.

I will strongly disagree with that.
Top 4 is good but we failed to seize a golden opportunity and the team/our keeper completely shite the bed on the big stage.
Really not other way to put it. It's massively disappointing but I'm glad/confident we're headed in the right direction.
Be decisive with a few signings and we will be in great shape.

150M for those three?
Money could be spent better elsewhere IMO.

Calm down man, no need to get offended.
But at a certain point, I want to win some of these and we need to be in true contention for something domestically.

Calling this season a failure is laughable after looking at what we've gone through this year and shows that you aren't looking at the big picture.

Can’t argue with that, but I don’t think the expectation was for that to happen this past year
Again can’t disagree that we fell face first in the final, but considering we overachieved to get there isn’t a failure to me
Hell I would even say that I’m not expecting us to win a trophy next year, but we just need to compete. I’d like to see us push harder for the premier league (hoping City doesn’t go off again like this year) and either one of the domestic cups or preferably Europe again
