Defensive effort and long ball distribution is what he sees. There are trade offs with his play, but with Can out and the midfield as a whole depleted, he has worked well as a pivot with Ox/Gini lately. Gives our midfield a good pressing dynamic when we have two or even three mods who have a high football IQ dropping back at the right times, and pressing forward at others.

With that said, as much as I love Hendo, he really needs to be a bench player next season. Hopefully Klopp brings someone in, or Can stays and establishes himself.

I mean there's a reason we've been linked to multiple defensive mids this summer no? Just hard to do anything about it right now with no transfer window and literally everyone hurt

that's a good analysis. and i would tend to agree that's his highest potential, but against the top of the premier league and past the CL group stage, he seems physically outclassed and ineffective.

I’d love to get a DM is his summer and have has Hendo as a quad B2B/DM... but our biggest opportunity is at RCB

But all in with Hendo and Lovren in Kiev

Agreed, if we get a world class RCB to pair with VVD, we're competing for the league next year imo

can somebody please tell me what Jordan Henderson contributes of value?

At this very moment, he is a living, breathing MF who plays for Liverpool FC.

ESPN ruined the match for me... Even though I turned notifications off... Should I watch it still?

Watch it all but the last 15 minutes.

If you watch the last 15 minutes, watch it with the Fox announcers muted.

Gini's header was in fact very nice... Man if I were watching this live I'd have been elated right now, what the hell happened?

Natural let-down.

Less-talented subs.

Formation not as organized.

And 2 of Roma's aggregate goals scored from play were lucky as frick and the other 2 came from penalties from truly unlucky hand-balls.

So did Roma score 6 aggregate? Yes.

Were 4 of those 6 pure luck? Yes.

Fair... I'm not going to watch the second half I don't think... Just turn our attention to the weekend and locking up top 4

Also, if we win this thing, we're automatically in Pot 1 next year right? That would kinda be nice

Fast forwarded through the 2nd half... I guess I feel better knowing that Roma scored two goals after 85 minutes and that it wasn't ever crazy close (at least not for very long

Also side note... What is Klavan supposed to do to avoid that penalty?

Yep.

Just like the Milner penalty in Game 1.

Just bad luck.

(But never forget that the same thing against a West Brom defender on a Liverpool cross is an "accident" and "couldn't be helped" and "wasn't possibly a penalty".)

I don' think it should have been a penalty in today's game either.

But TAA's definitely should have been a penalty.

The funny thing is that next year we will probably trot out new starters at GK, RCB, DM, Keita and Ox cements his spot. I still think that we make a real run at an Oblak or Allison for some reason. I like Karius but would like to see a Dudek to Reina type move. I also think we bring in a young back up speedster for a wing or two. We have a ton of money (for us) and players to sell. I guess what I'm saying is a lot of these players doing this will not be in our regular starting XI next year which tells you how far we have come in just 2 years.

Ok, scenario question...

89' in the final, (insert LFC player) scores to put us up 3-2. Of all the possible players we can put on the field, who would you most want to see score that winning goal?
