We were fricking dreadful and blew it on our early chances

Biggest reason that handball hurts is because the exact same situation went against us against Roma

Well shite...I wouldn't be shaking that refs hand at all, but even so, I believe a draw at Chelsea next weekend clinches top 4

Much like Stoke’s dive into relegation.

The only positive to take from today is that it was just as meh as the Everton and West Brom games so hopefully that’s a good sign for Wednesday

2 penalties should have been awarded on top of Mo’s clear miss.

Gotta love how announcers think the penalty on Milly against Roma was “clear” but Pieters with his arm flailing in an unnatural position is totally not a penalty because he didn’t mean to!

We really need Chelsea to drop a couple of points today. We are limping to the finish in the league. We just don’t have enough quality squad players with all the injuries for our weekend matches. The good news is we have a nice little rest period before defending and poaching a goal in Rome on Wednesday. Is anyone else starting to get a little worried about Too 4? We should have put that away a looooong time ago but our draws have been inexcusable. This summer we need to cut the fat.

Not worried about top 4 yet... We play the only team that can catch us (well knock us out of the top 4) and a draw against them clinches it...

I will feel better when we finish the Secong leg and get a point at The Bridge.

This is what I came to post. I’ve been worried about this for some time. I consider it a successful weekend now. On to Wednesday.

Soooo Klopp’s longtime assistant of 17 years Buvac better known as “The Brain” is taking a leave of absence from the club between now and the end of the season.

The club sites personal reasons as the cause but obviously there are rumors flying of a fall out with Klopp, etc. Definitely bizarre timing considering we are 90 minutes away from CL final...hope it doesn’t affect the squad

If we win the CL and finish Top 4 EPL with all the multiple hits that have been coming right and left, fast and furious, this season, it would be an astonishing achievement.

BTW, newest freshest Can rumor is he's back to Juventus again. As The World Turns.

The timing of this Buvacs shite is so strange. There must have been a knock down drag out where the only possible solution was to have him leave. I hate what this may do to the team from a moral/continuity stand point. Oh well, on to Wednesday.

I can't believe this shite. This entire season seems to have been one body blow after another except for VVD. But The Brain leaving at this time or anytime is not good. This is a guy he met playing for Mainz and has been his right hand man every step of his managerial career. He was called "Klopp's twin" at BVB because they saw the game exactly the same way. I agree, if we make Top 4 and the CL Final it will have been a fricking master stroke.

So will Max Meyer be a squad player? Or does he have the talent to slot into the starting 11?

https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/liverpool-arsenal-target-meyer-suspended-by-schalke/1m3iqhayk0n7x1olhws0t756zv

quote:

Amid the battle to resolve his future, the 22-year-old has hit out at Schalke’s sporting director Christian Heidel and his supposed behaviour during talks.

He told Bild: “I was never concerned about the money, otherwise I would have accepted the second improved offer.

“That's why I find it a mess for Clemens Tonnies to say it on TV as if it were all about money. I simply did not want to stay with Schalke and work under Heidel. It's all about this. Lately, it just feels like bullying to me.”

Schalke have now responded to an unsanctioned interview by revealing that Meyer will form no part of their plans for the remainder of the 2017-18 campaign.

A statement on the club’s official website read: “Max Meyer will not participate in the training sessions of the team in the next two weeks until the end of the season and, as a result, will no longer be used.

“His contract with FC Schalke 04 expires at the end of the season.”

Heidel added on the accusations made against him: "We cannot tolerate this behaviour and these statements – in particular the false allegations against the club, which we reject in the strongest possible manner. Schalke 04 has always behaved correctly towards Max Meyer."

Head coach Domenico Tedesco also condemned Meyer for speaking out against a club which has done so much for him down the years.

The clubs reaction here makes me smell rotten fish.

And I have no idea if a guy like Meyer would be on Klopp's radar, but he's a quality young player for sure.

No idea how reliable this is but apparently this is from a Bosnian journalist
quote:

Željko #Buvac has apparently been spending a lot of time in Banja Luka, BiH lately. His visits are related to his father's illness, per sources. Rumours about being #Wenger successor may not be accurate. I'm digging though.. stay tuned. #Liverpool #Arsenal #LFC #AFC
Just an alternate opinion of what might be going on and to me it makes sense with him suddenly leaving and with him apparently still being employed by LFC for now open to come back. Still a bit of a strange situation given the circumstances

That certainly seems to be a more plausible story than simply that he and Klopp couldn't stand each other anymore and he had to get out.

Ok, the Father being sick is something I can understand. The way LFC is covered there is no way in hell a huge rift with Klopp would have gotten absolutely nothing, zero, nada from the media. Also, I can see Klopp being the kind of guy who would tell his best friend of 17 years as teammates and constant coaching companions to roll out and take care of your Father right now. Klopp is building something special here and it will be here when you get back is a message I can see delivered by JK. The Arsenal rumor...who knows? Great club, great job, if they want The Brain God Bless him and I’ll pull for him every time except when he plays us.

Doesn’t really make sense though for them getting a guy that has zero head coaching experience
