If true, £130mm is a lot to turn down... But it's just too late in the window to sell IMO...
It's been reported Barca have told him it's now or never.. who knows??
Phil doesn't seem the type to agitate for a move publicly...
I'd gladly sell at that price next summer...

How about anything coming out of Brazil?
https://www.espnfc.us/story/3174603/liverpool-reach-agreement-to-sell-philippe-coutinho-to-barcelona-sources
And, yes, "sources" are definitely not to be totally trusted and "sources" can be wrong. But if "sources" are correct in this case, I couldn't be more disappointed in Coutinho doing this on the cusp of the new season and with a bare 3 weeks left in the window.
If Liverpool only sell him for 82M, then frick that.
We shall see.

The Brazilian midfielder told Liverpool earlier in the day that he wanted to leave and join Barcelona, sources close to the player have told ESPN Brasil.
Liverpool reportedly rejected a an €80m (£72m) offer from Barcelona last month, while manager Jurgen Klopp said last week that the Catalan side can "save their energy" in their pursuit of Coutinho.
But ESPN Brasil's sources said the deal was set to go through after the player spoke to Klopp about his desire to leave.

Barcelona have an agreement in principle to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool for a base fee of €90 million (£81.6m) with bonuses that could bring the deal to €120m (£108.8m)

I don't believe it. Espn is not reliable when it comes to soccer reports. And Liverpool's usual journos are never ones to hold back bad news so if there was at least a little truth, I imagine we would've heard at least a little smoke from Pearce, Joyce, etc.

I don't think it could happen without any of the local journos getting some wind of it already if the deal is "done"... still may happen though, who knows...
I don't have a hard time believing that Phil would like to go to Barca...
Im really hoping he stays and Neymar convinces PSG to come for his buddy next year... even better if we some how get an agreement from keira to come for his buyout clause...

I don't doubt we'd be low balled by them... They want to get Dembele too...

Same, Pearce has become my go to, and he's silent on the matter today (only tweeted out that Cou didn't train but got treatment for his back injury)

Thanks guys for talking me down off of the ledge.
I think this transfer window is getting to me.
(But if you guys end up being wrong I'll jump! I SWEAR I'LL JUMP!

Not saying it won't happen, but I don't believe it's already a "done deal"... I mean if Barca come back with a 130M+ offer then who knows

Look guys I've been there but you can't trust sources from the likes of ESPN from Brazil. You just have to stick with the Pearce's of the world and attempt to ignore the rest. I'm not saying that it couldn't happen but until a trusted journal says it I'm feeling good.

I hate to say it but at 110-130mil you almost have to sell. It sucks bc I love Phil but seeing us linked with that CAM from Ajax, ziyach, last week kinda showed me that Phil leaving could be real. It sucks losing one of our best players but we have to trust that klopp had a plan of action in case selling Phil actually happened this summer. If we do sell Phil and then we don't get VVD or any other CAM this window this is going to a very long season.
Posted on 8/8/17 at 10:50 am to KloppTrain184
If Phil is sold without bringing in VVD, Keita and a jack of all trades CM/Wing cover (like Ox), then FSG is going to lose the fanbase.
I don't think Keita is completely dead in the water, and Cou leaving could be the push that FSG need to go back to Leipzig with that 85M offer.

I'm with TFTC. I'm sure he is a little interested in going but the reliables have said he's not looking to push a deal through. I don't think he goes anywhere this year and if they keep their interest next summer then that may change.

The Liverpool subreddit is a good place in general for updates and they'll also clear out a lot of the BS too if you need a place to keep up with general news.

Yep, that's where I go for most if not all of my LFC news.

I'm watching ESPN and they are all in scrolling that Barca to get Cou for $141 million. I know what I JUST said but so hard seeing this staring me in the face. I am found exactly what I just told you guys to not do but damn it sucks to see.

But what's he fricking point if no one (Southampton, RBL) is willing to even sell to us?
Posted on 8/8/17 at 1:39 pm to Meursault
I cannot find anywhere to back this up, but to see it scrolling like it is a done deal has me worried. If FSG does this then they need to GTFO now. We haven't net spent Jack shite since Klopp got here. And you are correct Sault, our two targets don't want to sell to us so this cannot be true right?
