If Mane passes in the Derby for an easy chip in goal and if he brings down the ball for an easy chip in goal today we have 4 more points that were instead dropped.

It ain't been the CBs that have been the problem of late, boys.

A lot of what ifs to play. Mané’s not the only one

Oh, absolutely 100% correct.

Our entire offense is utterly profligate in their waste a LOT of late. But the easiest two of the many wasted chances of late were the two Mane attempts and they both stood out as such.

A Journo that is pretty reliable on Saints news says we are closing in on VVD

he's been left out the squad to protect him for the transfer window... fingers crossed, but need the lean...

Man, I had to wait a couple of days after that one.

The first goal was just Gomez being young. He'll learn from it. But thats what happens when you play a young guy - he assumes the guy he's marking is staying back because thats where he's been and doesn't play the ball at its highest part.

Migs - I have been done with him for awhile. I have no idea why we aren't riding with Karius for a run of games. But Migs usually faces few shots on target a game and just doesn't do enough to stop enough of them.

My main disappointment is that we've had a real good opportunity - fairly easy schedule for us and other top 4 contenders dropping points - and instead of giving ourselves a cushion and putting ourselves in position to fight/chase for 2nd, we've essentially put ourselves in a 3 way battle for 4th. Chelsea could still drop back, but 3 teams battling for 1 CL spot makes it much harder for us and lessens our chances.

VVD..hoping so. But mainly I just want a new CB to come in for depth and quality. I'd love it to be VVD, but really just about anyone will do. But I'm not putting a whole lot of faith in this yet - still plenty of time for us to screw it up.

Migs has never been good enough... he's a decent enough shot stopper, but his distribution sucks and his boneheaded mistakes are just too costly.. He just has a decent run of matches where he doesn't have to do much, that lulls you into the false sense of security every now and then, but the huge frick up is always there to happen when it will cost us most (much like Lovren)

Karius has had some nervy moments, but I'd really like to see him for a season... with a better defense in front preferably... He was very good in the Bundesliga..

Now the new rumor is Butland... I'd take him over Migs, even though he's not having the best season.. I thought we should have signed him over Migs a few years back... I'd let him and Karius fight it out...

Now, obviously if the club wanted to stump up major £££ and go after someone like Oblak... frick all three of the ones mentioned above... I just don't see that happening for many reasons..

Mugs and Lovren have both made big strides though in the past season. With that work ethic and dedication I’m sure Klopp will stand by them. Not to say that they can’t be replaced, but only if Klopp finds a readily available replacement that’s clearly a level above (see VVD). I think that’s a similar reason why it’s not too likely we see Henderson get replaced. He’s grown in his role (though he’s far from perfect) and he puts a lot toward the club. Klopp values that type of work ethic and commitment.

Honestly, Migs wasn’t having a bad season by any stretch, but that was an embarrassing error.

I'm sorry, I don't see it... Lovren is as bad as he's ever been... So, is Migs...

Because many teams sit back and defend and don't attack, it's not always as evident.. Migs at least has some decent shot stopping skills... but Lovren is a hack...

I think Klopp's problem is a) he's loyal b) he zeros in on a target and wants that player... see VVD

There are plenty of GKs and tons of CBs better than those 2 IMHO..

Mignolet has the lowest save percentage of any GK in the EPL. He's stopped 23 shots on goal and has surrendered 23 goals.

So *IF* this were true, is Kevin Trapp any better than Mignolet, Karius, or Ward? Or (*if* it were true), would Liverpool be adding to a pool of mediocrity?

The agent of Paris Saint-Germain misfit Kevin Trapp has opened the door for Liverpool to sign the goalkeeper in January.

He was a very good keeper in the BuLi, but has had some issues at PSG... I'd take him over MIgs, but is he that next level keeper we need? Not so sure...

Migs a shot stopper?

His weak arse hand couldn't stop that shot straight down the cock.

I think people underestimate his lack of influence on our defense. We need to move on from him.

Karius may or may not be the answer but the one thing I notice about him while he's out there is that he is LOUD. Is he telling the defense to do all the right things? Who knows... but he's damn sure telling them.

Maybe that's the difference between a German and a Belgian.

Merry Christmas, Liverpool peeps!

I agree with most here, it's just time to move on from Migs, he's not good enough to get us where we want to go.

That being said, I would love to see Karius/Trapp battle it out for the #1, and maybe neither are good enough, who know, but they'd be better options imo than Migs

Also, Merry Christmas everyone!

Migs has always been a decent shot stopper... yeah, he fricked that one up... but that has always been his best quality... clearly he hasn’t been or isn’t good enough...

I haven’t really seen anyone suggest he is really good enough...

Coutinho showed up in my dream last night. I cannot for the life of me remember what the dream was about or what Coutinho was doing.

But I distinctly remember Coutinho in the dream.

True story.
