Yea I have no problem with that not being allowed as a goal. Just frustrating because we're just not catching breaks right now especially after having a call go against us 3 days ago.

It was inadvertent and nothing he could do to avoid it even though he tried, but it went directly off his arm into the goal so you feel like they had no choice but to call it as it would've otherwise not gone in.
Sounds fair enough.

I have to say though that it is another very VERY soft call.
I finally got around to watching the replay and the best I can do is say the ball MAY have barely touched his arm. Solanke chest is ABSOLUTELY 100% what provides the ball's impetus to the goal. And if it hit his arm it was only a mere wisp of a glancing touch.
I have now changed my mind. We were hard done upon by the officiating 2 games in a row now. And, in saying so, I will also say that that is still no excuse for this squad to have dropped points to either of these two teams.
Here's the link. Watch the replay starting at 0:43.

Really frustrating week.
Had the opportunity to elevate ourselves into 3rd with a gap between a few of the teams competing for 4th. Instead we're basically in a mix with them.
I'm not troubled by the rotation for the Everton game and don't understand why its a talking point - Everton were shite and basically if we play them 10 times we win 6 or 7 and tie the others. We were plenty good enough to beat them. They had zero chance of a win. As a soccer fan though, I hate that they were gifted a phantom penalty because it rewards teams who play like that.
Didn't get to watch last night, but watching the "highlights" we had some chances and just didn't put them away.
Oh well - clean sheet at home. Wasted opportunity, and continue being part of the dog fight.

Like I said before though, it’s just a hiccup that you expect to have in the season and it just sucks that it’s come in back to back games at crucial times when we haven’t caught a break. That’s why we’re not a championship team yet

Just FYI, Emre "Captain Yellow Card" Can is suspended for the Bournemouth match.
And if he's still around for the Porto match next year, he's suspended for that one too.

Saw a wonderful thing in the Leicester/Crystal Palace match this morning.
Referee Martin Atkinson sent of a Leicester player (Ndidi, I think) for simulation.
If only more referees would do so.

was it a second yellow? If not, that sounds like bullshite... don't agree with that..

Yes it was a yellow.
And it was blatant and pathetic. I’m not a huge “spirit of the game” guy, but Ndidi’s dive was an embarrassment.

I don't have an issue if it was a second yellow...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are there not possible further penalties (i.e. suspension) for blatant simulation?

Niasse (Everton) got a two match ban.. but he actually won a penalty...
Not 100% sure.. but I think if it was called during the match, no further punishment...

frick Alan Pardew and his Baggies.
frick them all right in all of their pussies.
Couldn't take a single step wrong against the Reds at Anfield, but look utterly uninterested and inept at The Hawthornes against ManUre.

Wow, Mane starts this match on the bench and Can obviously not selected because of his 1-match ban. Lallana and Ings on the substitutes bench along with Milner, Mane, Solanke, TAA, and Karius.

Curious to see if Ox and Coutinho are flipped in that formation... maybe even 4231...
Posted on 12/17/17 at 10:04 am to TFTC
It’ll probably be more of a 4-4-2 with Coutinho on the left, Ox on the right and Salah and Firmino up top
Posted on 12/17/17 at 10:09 am to TheZaba
yeah some variation of that... they are pretty similar... Coutinho always is very tucked in when he starts on the left... I think Ox is good balance on the right...
Basically, what they played vs West Ham...

Didn’t Klopp use these same players (or close enough) against Spartak in a 4231, with Bobby up top and Salah behind him?
Posted on 12/17/17 at 10:31 am to beatbammer
early on it looks like a 433.. what you posted originally with Ox in MF
