I have yet to see him play a game that made me think he is as highly talented as everyone says. Not saying he's not, but I'm reserving judgment.

France was an ok footballing nation for the longest time, but it was the 1998 team capped French nationals with heritage all over the place from Algeria, Argentina, Guyana, Guadeloupe and Poland.

Here is my take on Green. It is absurd to give spots based on potential to a guy who plays 5 minutes of first team action. Lots of countries give opportunities to players since they are dual nationals and they want to wrap them up. They either are far worse than the US or the guys have way more experience than Green currently does.
Now if you want to get dual natinoalitiy guys, you can do better than Rongen and not alienate future stars. But guaranteeing spots on the final 23 is beneath any team with 7 straight WC appearances.
The German NT capped guys with great resumes. The Turkish NT capped all of the Turkish guys who played a few games for Bundesliga teams. It did not lead to some incredible improvement in the team's performance.
And if anyone mentions Nuri Sahin, please don't even try. He did so much more in his mid teens the anyone since Cesc although he hasn't lived up to the hype since.
