Gigantic understatement.

Just so we are all clear, since you can't defend your stance on how doomed the US was without Landy, you just call a thread retarded and act as if it's some sort of troll job? As if we had lost twice, we wouldn't have had some "Told you we would miss Landy" threads.

Go back and find me saying this team had no chance of winning because of Landon not being there.

Seriously, do it.

As I suspected when the decision was made, having Landy or not would make no difference for this team.

There is no way to prove that at all. We could have easily scored an extra goal against Ghana or beaten Portugal. We also could have easily lost both of those games with LD.

We don't know. For you to say he would have no affect is just asinine.

And I think he would have been valuable regardless of his role, but it is the most futile exercise yet.

Like I said before the World Cup, I am anti-Jurgen. I am happy with the four points, but this has not changed my mind on him. I still do not think he is a great coach or anything and he is not a savior of US soccer. More than anything, it is the incredible play of guys like Fab and Jones that I like to give credit to.

Coaches often get too much credit or blame, but I am all for applauding or ripping them with dreadful personnel decisions. I can live with a poor sub decision, but not obvious errors in judgment or experimenting with stupid ideas that have sucked in the past.

Sure, but at some point, everyone just needs to sit back and enjoy the moment

What's not an opinion however is that Brad Davis has made ZERO difference.

Nah, He may have been an awesome asset to the scout team in practice.

It is an absolutely retarded premise at best.

I have never said we were fricked without Landy. I did say that it was a moronic and the most shocking decision I have experienced as a sports fan. I still think Jurgen is as stupid as you are for doing it.

At most, I questioned where goals would come from, but fortunately, that has not been an issue. No one ever said we were fricked without Landon. We hoped we could overcome the admission. A lot of people just thought that it could hurt our chances, and I was certainly one of those.

Absolutely. There are stupid threads every day now, and you just took the cake with your abortion of an OP.

But continue being the cool troll you think you are.

I agreed with leaving Landon off the roster, but I admit I wasn't completely confident about it.

It reminded me of Maradona leaving Cambiasso and Zanetti off the 2010 roster. It came to bite us in the arse against Germany. We needed experience and leadership on defense.

If the US had struggled to score, then you would need someone like Landon to bring the magic. But, it has worked out for us. I'm happy about that. However, it is still early.

We've scored enough to win both games, just not enough to bail out the defense in the second. Scored as many goals as we did in a weaker group in South Africa and twice as many as we did in 2006.

We have a way better player pool, and Jermaine Jones is a man on a mission.

I've given up thinking you will ever be rational about this (and please don't dispute that because you have said things like "I will always hate Jurgen for this"), but how can you sit there and say with certainty that these were "dreadful" personnel decisions?
How can you say he made an error in judgement? No one knows what went into his judgement, but the team has played well enough that it would seem to make sense to trust his judgement a little more than y'all have.

Again, why are we even talking about this?

OUR WORLD CUP LIVES ARE AT STAKE COME THURSDAY and Landon is not a part of it.

There was literally no reason for this thread other than to reopen old soccer board wounds.

You are a troll who gets off on antagonizing people with pointlessly argumentative posts and the board will be better the day you decide to leave.

I don't know his post history, but this thread is far from illegitimate. I don't know why this is such a sensitive subject for people.

Because the Landon talk had died once the tournament started only to be zombified right before one of the biggest matches in US Soccer history.
