USA 1 - Portugal 1
Germany 3 - Ghana 0
Portugal 2 - Ghana 1
USA 0 - Germany 2 (Germany with their subs starting)

Germany 9pts
USA 4pts (-1 GD)
Portugal 4pts (-3 GD)
Ghana 0pts

or Jurgy calls Loew to pay up on an old bar room bet and we get an easy win against germany.

If we have something to play for, why would we play Yedlin and Gonzalez?

Did you miss the part where Jurgy is making deals with the Nazi?

I think a scoreline like 3-1 in Germany's favor is something that could happen. I don't really like their defense very much to be honest. I think we could get a goal, and if we get a point this Sunday, a goal would pretty much put us through.

The group more or less comes down to Portugal vs. US. As long as the US gets a result, then we should be clear.

However, the exception is that if Ronaldo goes in dry on Portugal and/or Germany decides they still hate us for WWI, WWII, stealing a couple guys in their pool, and hating our coach.

So if we lose to Portugal and they beat Ghana we're basically fricked?

Yes. We would need to beat Germany if so.

We defeat Portugal Sunday IMO. They are spent and Germany dismantled them.

Pure speculation on your part.

Germany got a bs pen a set piece goal and then played 60 min. up a man.

If we play like we did yesterday we will likely lose to Portugal.

If Portugal plays like they did yesterday, they will likely lose to the USA.

We won't, Portugal is a team that we can actually have ball possession against instead of being on the defensive the whole game.

Well yes, if they play with 10 min for 2/3 of the match they will most likely lose.

They weren't great but they had two great chances to score and one of the goals they allowed was bs.

I can definitely see this happening. If we do end up with a tie against Portugal (and Germany wins out), it'll pretty much be all about goal difference on the final day (unless Ghana gets a result against Portugal), which is why I'm hoping Germany beats Ghana, and won't need to score a lot against us. Then again, we could just make things a lot simpler and beat Portugal to advance!

But Cristiano Ronaldo is like Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane. You can hold him off, frustrate him, bother him, antagonize him, attack him like a mosquito. But one mistake or lapse of concentration, and he will crush your MF'ing skull.
