There will always be a small group of American fans who disdain Landon Donovan and everything he does, despite all that he has done for soccer in this country. It's quite sad, to be honest.

I'm not a big LD fan, but if you know anything about him, it was pretty clear it was a joke. It's along the same lines of him singing "I'm not going to Brazil" in that commercial.

I thought it was obvious enough. I just don't understand why some will try to villainize the guy with every comment he makes. I feel sorry for those people, because they must live miserable lives.
