He actually had kind of a meh season with Wolfsburg last season. He is really little, like smaller than Arshavin little.
I think you mean Bremen, the other "green" team in Germany. Arshavin is a good comparison for playing styles as well.

I did. I think he missed Ozil as well.

I had read where Marin had to adjust to more of a central role this year, due to Ozils departure, and struggled...I'd want him on the right wing at LFC...this doesnt seem to have any legs...

Apologize if this has already been posted but just saw this Aquilani fan article on soccerlens
https://soccerlens.com/fans/liverpools-sad-treatment-of-aquilani/
It's really been an odd road for Aquilani the past couple of years. As I'm sure you're aware, he along with Totti and DeRossi were the trio of Roman born and bred players that most felt would wear the Giallo Rossa for their entire careers. That is until the previous owners went bankrupt and Unicredit bank forced Aquilani's abrupt sale.
It seems Liverpool (and Roma fans concerning getting him back to Roma) are throwing blame on Aquilani (or his agent) but it's pretty understandable that he's after some security after these couple of years.
Is the article's comment about Daglish just mentioning Adam's game true? Kind of odd as my friends who are Liverpool fans were raving about Aquilani.

I think Roy fricked up when he sent Aqua out on loan. When he went back to Italy last year, all indications were, he wanted to stay and I dont blame him...
With the acquisitions of Adam and Henderson in the offseason, it's hard to see him being part of Dalglish's future plans, but I think he's great and has looked the best in CM this preseason.
I think it's pretty clear that if the right price comes, he's gone. I'm surprised so few clubs, in Serie A, are interested in paying the fair price to get him.
his agent is in the news every goddamn day, with something to say about it...in the end, i think he goes for a little under the price we want, but it gets him off the books and lets us address other areas of need.
Would he not be welcome back at Roma?

Here's a vid of his game against Athletico. The passage of play and the interchange at the 1:58 mark or so is extremely impressive, as is his goal.
Maybe part of the reason he goes unnoticed for 'Pool is that he was brought in as a replacement for Xabi Alonso, which isn't exactly a like for like replacement. Alonso has the better passing range, but Aquilani is a more mobile, fluid midfielder who looks to combine with players around him rather than dictate play from deep.
Charlie Adam is a Scottish version of Alonso, and 'Pool have desperately needed a player who could stretch play. I don't see any reason why 'Pool can't retain all their good central midfielders, Gerrard, Meireles, Aquiliani, Lucas, and Adam. Spearing isn't going to be elite, Poulsen is a shite passer, Shelvey isn't really ready, and Henderson is probably suited to a wide midfield role rather than a central one. All their CM options have opportunities to contribute, especially considering how long and brutal the PL season is. I just don't see why they have to sell Aquilani, especially when they probably won't get what they paid for him.

I concur. Marin has great skill, needs another year at Bremen to adjust to his new role.

If he's healthy, I think Liverpool is a better team with him on the pitch.

There's probably a number of factors:
1) That it seems so clear that he's been excluded from Liverpool's plans probably makes any team interested think the price may go way down since the potential suitors are probably only AC Milan, Fiorentina, Napoli and Roma or possibly Inter.
2) Add his injury history into that and teams with limited resources like Napoli or Fiorentina where he'd be a good fit have even more reason to try to hold out for a safer price.
I think he may end up at one of these 2 eventually but for a lower price.

Fans would crown him in laurels and parade through the Forum. "Aquilani back to Roma?" threads are more frequent on fan boards than "Help Choosing an EPL side" ones are here. AS Roma has a pretense of being a top 10 club but I think that most fans would rather be good with lots of homegrown Roman players than great with imports.
But I have little idea what exactly Sabatini or Luis Enrique think about it. It really seems that he would fit well into Enrique's 4-3-3 since he flourished along with Totti and De Rossi under Spalletti's similar system. Seems it could well to bring Erik Lamela in slowly behind him. I wonder if there's been contact and the sides had vastly different prices in mind considering Liverpool would probably be reluctant to sell back to Roma at a loss and Sabatini has a fairly limited budget considering all the new pieces Roma has bought and is still intent on buying.
Honestly, it really seems odd that nothing has come about though because I also believe Liverpool still owes Roma a differed portion of the original transfer.
Maybe Sabatini burned his goodwill in getting you guys to take Doni's contract/non-EU status off our hands.

He played against Gala earlier this week and was fricking miserable. Fulham offered £1.5 mil for him last week (which would suck because I kind of like Fulham) or he could leave England and go back to mainland (probably best for all involved cause he's not an EPL level player)...but he won't be a red this year.

I remember watching that game. His celebration after his goal was pure passion.

I'm reading that Jose Enrique to Liverpool is a done deal.

Enrique to Liverpool imminent is what I'm hearing.
Jovanovic to Anderlecht deal has been reached.
Joe Cole loan to QPR is also in the works.

Some reports are popping up today saying Gerrard's infection is not as bad as previously thought.
Kenny said Gerrard is "not too far away"

If he stays there and grows to be the next young, great German midfielder then he doesn't cost 10-15 mil, he costs 20-25 million. Would be smart to swoop in and get him while they can.
