The Cosmos have announced that they are ceasing opperations. Sounds like the NASL is folding again.

Damn, I hate to see that.
My dream one day is for the red bulls to be gone and Cosmos take their place in MLS.
They didn't want to cave into the 100 million franchise see and CFG took their place.
The Cosmos have stated multiple times they are a club not a franchise.

Wow, the Cosmos was the big name in th NASL. It's pretty much in its death throes now. I thought this would happen in like 10 years. The USL will replace it as the second division.

Lifelong Leipzig Red Bull fans would disagree with you.

This might be the only place you will find one.

Fukk the Cosmos. They've practically killed NASL twice. They were nothing more than a media hype that's done frick all for soccer in America. I'm sorry but their history is shite.

Someone else will hopefully come along to fight the good fight against MLS

Cosmos and nasl are having meetings in atlanta, trying to figure out how to stay alive and attract more investors.
Draconian why don't you give them a call? How much can you put up?

I think we can pretty much say the NASL is dead at this point. They tried to maintain an unsustainable business model for too long and it was only a matter of time. Didn't think it would be this fast, though.
The integration of the MLS reserve league into USL Pro gave that league a huge boost, and that will replace NASL as the second tier. I think eventually, all MLS teams will have reserve teams playing in the third tier, and the USL will be a second division with independent teams trying to win promotion to MLS. We're a while from that happening, though. At least 15 years.
