So, who was snubbed? Thoughts on the list? Stories about matches at these stadiums?

Two that I really liked

12. Stade Velodrome, Marseille

The most atmospheric stadium in France, prior to its redevelopment, is now the most space-age, having been rebuilt in time for next summer's Euros. The locals have lost none of their raucousness in their gleaming new surroundings.

13. Estadio da Luz, Lisbon

The ground that inspired Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, but the architecture is where the similarities end. Benfica's ground delivers a thunderous atmosphere - especially for the big derby games - and the sight of an eagle circling the pitch (adopted subsequently, to slightly less dramatic effect, by Crystal Palace) is thrilling.

I always buy Amsterdam arena on FIFA because I hate playing in the rain.
A little history on the Amsterdam arena. One day you can ask your grandchildren, "who scored the game winner for America in their first victory over Holland on Dutch soil?"

"Bobby frickin wood, that's who"

That Marseille stadium is sick

I'm assuming they took things in to account like atmosphere, because I doubt there are many stadiums out there nicer than the Emirates.

Dortmund being #1 probably means it was considered

Partizan's stadium is much nicer than Red Star's.

Derby football. It's not the nicest stadium, but I'd imagine they chose it out of the atmosphere. More to European football than England

Yep. Bucket fricking list.

This is the only stadium, specifically the yellow wall, that seems to be in the same solar system as Tiger Stadium.

I haven't been back since they finished the additions, but I would love to go. As a fan, the experience is so-so. It's not very family friendly. Too many hoodlums. I don't suggest bringing girls with you, especially if you are in the end sections. A friend of mine had his ticket to a CL game stolen out of his hand by some punk-arse kid right outside the gates.

San Siro not #1, list is

quote:

San Paolo, Naples

should be nowhere near the top 20, run down stadium in a poor area of Napoli (lol), there's a reason ADL has been lobbying for a new stadium since forever.

quote:

Juve Stadium, Turin

Boring, corporate stadium, nothing special at all. There's several stadiums in Italy alone that i'd list ahead of it (Olimpico and Marassi)

Are we really going to sit here and pretend that the Mestalla and the Westfalenstadion are better than the San Siro
