Defensively try to avoid someone running at you and have them break down. Much easier to defend someone when they are standing still. Force them to their non dominant foot and try not to dive in. Use your body and hand- majority of refs don't call a hand check like in basketball

Buy him a size 2 or 3 football, it will help him learn as the ball isnt hitting him half way to his knee

Cones, using only one foot, then the other, then "inside to inside".

In reality, make him super quick, teach him to kick a ball 20 yards and tell him to run after it.

How do I get the kids on my 4-5 year old team to remember which goal is which? Any games you know of to help them remember?

defending is more about containment. watch the hips, force them to one direction, really look for that inch they give you where you can take the ball from them.

When i was younger my coach would always say, "Don't be like OJ." dont stab at the ball.
