Take the top 3 teams in the MLS and put them in the Premier League - how do they fare?

Based on points, they would be:
Atlanta United FC
NYC RC
FC Dallas
Let's say that after relegation in the 17/18 season, rather than promote 3 teams, these teams were added to the PL for the 18/19 season. If they are bottom 3 at the end of the season, they are back to MLS.
Would any of them stay up (i.e., finish out of the relegation zone)?

Would finish 2nd, 5th, and 12th.

An MLS team would probably get relegated due to lack of depth.

AUFC probably has a better starting 11 than Huddersfield and they stayed up, so I would say it isn’t outside the realm of possibility.

There's no doubt in my mind they would finish 1, 2, and 3. The #1 team would likely take the record for most points from City.

I'll have what you're having.
I think at least one of those teams would stay up.
Of course, that's if they were stuck w/ MLS rules/restrictions re: salaries.
If they could open the checkbook to pull in talent and depth, they might improve their chances.
I think in the "best case" scenario, they could hover mid-table, to lower end.

It would probably depend on tactics and injuries. The PL is somewhat predictable in terms of relegation exit strategies, hence why people like Big Sam keep getting jobs.

2 of them relegated at least

All would end up in the championship

But have no where near the depth
To compete in the league, fa and league cup

Yeah, but the MLS teams also weren't brought up in the culture that likes to pretend those last two mean anything. So, they'd send out their academy players.

I get what you are saying but they still don’t have to depth to compete just in the league

And then struggle to contend for the playoff in tGOATpionship for the same reason

Only if you assume they aren't allowed to sign more players in year 2.

This is what I meant

They would have an influx of huge tv money coming their way. These teams would buy, just like other promoted clubs do.

Atl front and midfield would do pretty good. The back line would get destroyed though.
Atl would score but it would also give up a ton of goals.
Ny would do better defensively but they wouldn’t score as much as atl.
Dallas would bunker all game long.
If we played by premier rules with roster construction before hand then atl and ny could probably avoid regulation. They wouldn’t be near the top just out of the bottom.

I think the chances are pretty high that they would all three be relegated unless another club totally imploded and one finishes 16th.
Like crazyforlsu posted, the lower tier teams that usually successfully manage to avoid relegation in leagues like EPL, Serie A and La Liga are built specifically to avoid relegation.
Better MLS teams are constructed differently. An MLS team trying to avoid relegation in one of the big European leagues would need to revamp their roster with veteran defenders / some experienced disciplined enforcer type midfielders to successfully "park the bus" against over half their opponents to try to squeeze out enough 0-0 and 1-0 results.
Once you consider how much they would need to change, it's not like they'd really be an "MLS team" anymore.
Going for even a somewhat attacking style when even the best attackers -- like Josef Martinez just for example -- are players of similar quality to the ones the bottom tier teams in the big leagues all have is going to lead to seasons like Benevento just had in Serie A trying to play "beautiful attacking football" or, at best, SPAL that stayed up on a last weekend miracle.
