re: Super League may NOT actually be happening!

These arguments all sound similar to the ones that occur when the rich part of town wants to annex itself off the poor part.
It’s all tied back to “what’s going to happen to us when you stop paying for our existence “
The reality is that the top clubs likely are responsible for 50%+ of global soccer revenue and awareness. They are tired of subsidizing everyone else I’d imagine. And let’s be real, outside of maybe Man City, it’s not like ownership is appreciated anyway.
Obviously this is a business move and the owners anticipate more control and money and aren’t as concerned with “the good of the gane”. Odd that was never anything they were given credit for doing previously?

You utter fricking moron. What is the product being sold, and who produces it?

threat of relegation pushes teams, even top teams, to make needed changes. Without relegation, Arsenal would have been comfortable keeping Emery for the full season, after he destroyed in 18 months what it took Wenger 20 years to build. When each of the top six were languishing at various times in the mid-table, that forced them to make changes, otherwise they would be comfortable to let seasons play out, to the detriment to the level of play, and to the players. That you don't seem to understand the psychology of pro/rel should hopefully tamp down on your insistence of who is being histrioni
Actually it would appear that the relegation system is causing the best teams to form their own league without a relegation system. I think it is you who are unaware of the reality of sport + business and relying on insults only gives my claim of sky screaming histrionics more credibility.

Which makes no sense for literally any of the clubs. They decrease their chances of CL by joining the league.
The point wouldn't be to qualify for CL through the Super League, that's just extra.
It would be to be financially better off/more stable via Super League funding and non-relegating status.
(Needless to say, this is all just a hypothetical I came up with anyway.)

Yes, I'm sure people will love to watch a league where Juande Ramos's job is safe for as long as he fellates the owner.

Just answer my question, what is the product being sold, and who produces it? You don't even understand the implications of your argument about owners subsidizing the rest of the league.

Let’s also not act like this is a true best of the best.
No one is
These are all teams who are ranked based on value, not current success

If you have a point then make it. Stop with the sophistry.

Hopefully Red Star Belgrade bribes their way into the league and unleashes some elite shithousery

The top team that make up the SL aren’t getting relegated. Cmon.
Arsenal is on a steady decline from 2nd place in 15-16. Seem like Tottenham is right behind them.
Man City was relegated in 2001. The fact it could happen is the key to the system.

The owners don’t give a frick
They see the Dallas Cowboys haven’t won a Super Bowl since the 90s and theyre the most valuable team in the world
They (United and Arsenal) being nfl owners, have Perez as the voice (a more well known European name), and are trying to NFLize the game
They want a constant cash flow, not something that matters based on their standing
What they are doing isn’t all that surprising.

pretty legit protest going at Stamford Bridge. Petr Cech was out earlier doing some damage control.

And if it forces your cash cows to seek refuge in a different league then I’d say you have a lousy system.

You obviously overvalue your opinion.

My god. Can you explain to me how these "cash cows" subsidize the rest of the league? Before the Sky deal, many of them were barely turning a profit at all. Give me details, some specifics, some numbers, because it appears you don't know anything about the sport.

It's a very simple question, and it should answer who subsidizes who. Hint: these owners do not subsidize the rest of the league. They are actually the customers people want to sell to, because they don't understand the sport, or they understand the difficulty associated with producing what is the ultimate product.
