We don't need a continental league. In fact we already have one, with robust mechanisms in place to produce some wildly entertaining moments. Why we need to upend this to support a bunch of billionaire dumbasses who couldn't tell you that Granit Xhaka can't turn to his right is beyond me. And also, in order to reach the full monetary potential, we can't invest in the proven models which produce good players. We have to give more money to big clubs, only a handful of which have something resembling a decent youth system.

Again, this is a race to the bottom, and it seems like you either want everything to be made worse, or you can't imagine the rich having just a little less power.

I dont know what you are asking me here. The big teams already dominate. FFP was a fricking joke, they already dont enforce the fairness aspect.

Nothing about football is fair, nothing. Im not advocating for this, just, we already have this under a different name.

A) They are not at-risk for the full $5B. This is debt loaded with recourse and there won't be any way out for the clubs beyond making them whole. JPM will get their money back or they will put these clubs in administration.

B) $5B, even if they were sole underwiter, is nowhere close to "the farm" for an institution like JPM

Ok you got me, Jp morgan just handed out 5 billion with zero analysis or thought behind this.

So Arsneal will probably get like 3.5 billion and most will some how makes its way back to the Rams.

And im not joking.

Nothing, just that the possible goal of a Europe-wide league is an utterly terrible idea, and won't ever work.

And again, the only thing that matters is players and fans. There are proven models of developing players, but instead of focusing investment there, which has so many massive benefits that the little bit the English copied from the French ten years ago produced the most talented English footballing generation, yet we are worried about the end-product. Maybe these billionaires deserve to lose their shirt because of their own poor decisions, of which there are so many.

Well I'm advocating for a fairer model, or rather, a model other than the insane one these ghouls want. If you don't think that is possible, that is on you. It is, but it takes people who can see the big picture, which obviously this group can't.

While that is probably true, I'm saying that having more money doesn't make these people more skilled at making football decisions. I'm 100% sure if you and I went back and looked at Granit Xhaka, we could see he's a limited player who needs the right type of partner to make things work. Instead we buy him, because we can't afford the right partner (or so they claim), leave him on an island, frick up his life, blame him for things that were obvious to anyone, and are still surprised when he can't turn to his right.

There isn't any excuse for buying just because you have money. We've bought so poorly, we deserve our decade in the wilderness. The only thing Kroneke seems to fight for is to avoid that fate. frick him.

Only 7 of the 12 teams have made it to the knockout phase of champions league more than 5 times in last ten years.

Been awhile for...
Milan 4 times. Latest 2014
Inter 2. Last time in 2012

Who is going to watch this mediocrity?

And they were this bad against other clubs while have all the incentives of having to earn their way in and still stunk it up. Just think when they don’t have to be good.

The Milan teams and Tottenham will be like watching Italy in rugby’s 6 nations.

Looks like City and Chelsea are trying to get out of it and are trying to convince Spurs to follow suit.

Really bad move to join to begin with, but if they bring it down I will applaud that.

Got knocked out of Europa league this year by Dinamo Zagreb

Currently sitting in 7th outside a place in European competition.

Just fired coach they are so bad and yet somehow

Super League bound and people claim there are fans out there that want to watch them play more?!

It's so fricking stupid. I'd wager most of these teams have significant losses due to COVID, where it would seem the best arrangement would be to seek aid as a group rather than try to blow up the football structure itself.

I'm wondering if the twin possibilities of getting kicked out of the UCL and the possibility of governmental intervention might scare these clubs to back down. The way FSG left Klopp hanging tonight is utterly disgraceful.

Klopp was rattled like he is after any bad result

Today was not a good look for him, his attack on Neville was completely wrong aswell and made him look stupid

Florentino Perez also confirmed that Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City as Manchester United and Arsenal will NOT be suspended by the Champions League and Europa League semi finals. "Impossibile, I can assure that. 100%. Seguro!".
