Interview with GGG. Lots of important takes. Haji Wright and CCV will be called to the next window. A previously uncalled dual Nat is being called in. Brooks will not be called. This is the last chance to impress most of the WC lineup is set. Reyna and Dest are not healthy enough for June. Weston and Richards are questionable. Speculation outside of the article is that the dual Nat is one of the Tillmans.

Rumors are that he was somehow involved in Weston's misadventures. Wes' father stated that other players we involved. Meg Swanick who is a reporter that followed the National team stated that she heard this rumor.

Well he has more than served his punishment at this point unless he forced Weston to go chase some tail at gunpoint. Gregg is cutting off his nose to spite his face now. He is still arguably our top 3 CB.

Anything on Scally?
Also wondering if Chris Richards or someone else young but talented will get a call up to make the squad.
While we have looked good defensively (mostly) without Brooks, he's surely one of our best CBs and should be automatic on a roster. You would also think the fact that he's played in world cup before would be big for such a young team.

For Brooks to be exiled from the team this long, it has to be in the Harkes/Terry/Benzema range of shitty behavior. Anything else is Gregg showing middle school level pettiness.
Which is odd because I don’t think Brooks did anything at that level. Gregg has also been pretty good about not being over the top on favorites/doghouse players, other than Brooks.

Don't worry about it bruh. Gregg will make a great behind the back pass to :insertrightorleftback: taking a throw-in and you'll forget about JAB.

The before mentioned Washington Post Article
With Dest out if we do not see Scally in June he wont have a ticket in November.

Berhalter didn’t say with certainty whether the 2014 World Cup player and Bundesliga mainstay would return to the squad after a long absence. But he did say: “I would rather look at a guy like [Carter-Vickers] to see what he can do because I know what John can do.”
This is the dooming of Brooks. GGG could of said this line about any of the other center backs.
Center back call sheet for June. M. Robinson, W. Zimmerman, C. Richardson(If Healthy), CCV, A. Long

I am an Atlanta Fan. Atlanta enough.

Are CCV, Haji Wright, and Joe Scally the three most interesting players to watch for the summer games? Anyone else I’m missing?
To clarify, Pulisic and Adams aren’t interesting at all because they are clearly starters in Qatar. Same with the other regulars who aren’t as cemented, but if healthy, there are probably 16-17 guys who are near locks.

The way Gregg has handled the Brooks thing publicly has been all wrong. When he originally left him off that first WCQ camp roster, he should've never offered up that he could be called back in for Nations League, because now the outrage resets when he says something like he did in the WaPo article.
With that said, Brooks has been dreadful for both club & country over the last calendar year. I think he deserves a fair shot to get back into the roster, but I'm no longer sure if he is one of our four best CB's.

I guess you could say the whole Striker position is the most interesting. Bringing in Wright and speculation that the Dual Nat is also a Striker. Again its only interesting because we have no one has put in consistent performances to claim the position.
Many among us would like to see a healthy Reyna at CM to keep Weah playing on the Wing.

I would probably put him at 4th, but because our fullbacks push up so high we end up leaving our CBs on an island and Brooks is slow af. That’s good for a goal a game and I don’t think we can afford that risk with our scoring struggles. I still think he should be in camp though and I’m really puzzled as to the real reason for his exclusion.

It's annoying that he never fully realized his potential, because I think of the Paraguay match in Copa America 2016 and even the Honduras Nations League semifinal last year, he was the best player on the pitch.
He's still just SOOOOOO inconsistent even for as long as he has been playing. You really have no idea day in and day out if he is going to win or lose the match. If he was in the 19-23 year old range, it'd be worth it, but at this point, we just have to accept that this is who he is and decide if that merits a ticket to Qatar.
I think Zimmerman, M. Robinson and Richards are all locks if they are healthy. That 4th CB spot can literally go to anyone who is in the best form by November (Brooks, Long, McKenzie, CCV, Che, Sands, some frick)

I agree with pretty much everything in the last two posts.
Other than Some frick playing central defense. Clearly a goalkeeper for Qatar.
