I'm assuming that we'll have a similar starting lineup as this time around. Other than Bocanegra and Cherundolo, most people should be young enough to come back, if they maintain their form, and a lot of our guys will get 2 chances. I think Torres will start. I'm really hoping Adu manages to wake up and start. We could really use some talent like that. I'm sure we'll have some surprising names as well.

I'm wondering about DeMerit. I really like him in the back (I know some disagree). However, he'll be 34 then, so he'll probably be done, but at the same time, he does have less years of grueling soccer on him, since he bloomed late.

I hope Adu wakes up, but I'm don't know if he will. Even if he doesn't, we should still be strong in the midfield with the Donovan, Dempsey, Bradley, Torres, Edu, Feilhaber, Holden, and maybe a few younger guys who will be big time players four years from now.

I didn't realize he's that old. He'll probably be replaced. We need better finishers.

Tell me about Adu. I remember reading stories about the wonder kid and everything, but how old is he now, where has he been playing, how has he progressed, why wasn't he included this year, etc?

Freddy's still just 21, so he's definitely got some time to figure it out. I'm not as exactly sure on what's happening with his development at this point as others on here might be, but it's kind of disappointing he wasn't able to make the squad this time. He didn't make it this year simply because he wasn't good enough. I know he's spent some time in Europe, but I don't think that's worked well for him. He's got some time, but he needs to start getting together.

Freddy is undersized and only has one skill, beating people one on one. It's an overrated skill, but it makes for impressive Youtube videos. Like Denilson.

I hate to say it, but I'm starting to think he lied about his age. Wouldn't be shocked if he's really 25.

Nah, I heard his interviews when he was 14. His voice was cracking like everyone going through puberty. Unless he went through it at the age of 17, his certificate is real.

He just kind of pulled a Tasmin Mitchell and stopped growing.

Maybe. Seems odd he only finished 5'8", though. How tall was he when he was 14?

I'd think so. Who else could we put at CB besides Goodson? Marshall? Unlike striker or even midfielder, I think it's OK for a CB to lose a step a little. He will still be good in the air, still be physical, and he'll actually probably be faster than he was in this WC, since he was bothered by injuries.

Consider the younger players who will be coming up. We need to get a ton of young guys capped in the Gold Cup and leading up to it.

Hendo, could you provide some more info. I've never heard of him. I'm assuming he's one of those 17-19 year old guys I was talking about.

In that case, we absolutely need a new coach. However, I can't see the lineup being that different.

We can't afford another young player with great talent to get away. Cap him now.
