Sounds like Bartomeu won.

Not sure if taking Messi next year is worth it.

are claiming that Lionel Messi has 'already made up his mind' and an 'announcement' is due 'shortly.

It is now being communicated to Lionel Messi that there is a possibility that he will have to stay at Barcelona.

Jorge Messi has seen the video released by
@DeportesCuatro
and now claims he has NOT answered "Yes" to the question of whether "they are studying the possibility of Messi staying a year and then leaving free."

Jorge Messi says he replied: "I don't know."

Lionel Messi thinks it would be great to be able to say goodbye to Barcelona fans. In 2021, Messi could join #ManCity on a free deal. The next few hours are vital.

Good - better for talent dispersion across Europe.

My sources are saying that Messi wanted a clause in his contract saying that he would not have to play at Stoke especially if there was a chance of rain. The lad was reported to be shaking in his boots from just the thought of having to play

EPL is 2 physical for him, especially at this age. They would make him feel every tackle.

They won't let him dance and parade around like they do in LaLiga. No chance. They fricking cry over every tackle in LaLiga, and if you make them feel it, they beg and cry for cards.

This the same Premier League on like year 3 of Sergio Ramos-induced pearl clutching?

Messi's father put out a statement

NOW we're getting somewhere.

Betting suspended on Messi to City as well.

La liga has said the clause still exists. This is a hail mary by la liga. If Messi takes them to court he will win and FIFA will grant his move before that ever happens.

La Liga is melting and doing everything possible to stay relevant and not lose another star.

Yeah if the wording in the contract is as stated in Jorge’s letter, Messi is gone. “End of the 2019-20 sports season” is vague and I think courts would back Messi on walking free.

IMHO Messi still holds big cards in his hand. First the Braithwaite deal that allowed Barca to get a player after a deadline shows that rules can be flexible and this might play well in the courts. Second he could Second, Messi can say something like. You can make me stay but I will never do anything for this club again. I believe what will happen is Messi will be allowed to move for Ronaldo type money around 100 million euros. Messi sees the sand flittering through the hour glass and knows he does not have much more time to win the Champions League again. Staying at Barca long term means Messi just chopped the legs out from under Koeman because it means Messi was given big inputs in what the club will look like in the next year or two and Kowman already upset Messi by saying no special priviliges.

cant blame messi for not coming to city. Not easy to just leave the spot light and be the 2nd best player on a team.

Not sure if this is sarcastic or not.

Think it’s more that the only way out of Barca this season is to go to court which means he wouldn’t be playing anywhere til next season anyway. Guess he’d prefer not to go out on bad terms.

Call me crazy but I’ll be a little pissed if we let him come next year.
