So Terrance Boyd will be a Bundesliga foward next year (via promotion)

Red Bull Leipzig are gonna be promoted to the Bundesliga for next season and Terrance should finally be healthy.
Just wanted to point this out. We can use all the help

Put it this way the last summer/winter transfer window they spent 15 million on players while the rest of the league combined spent 16 million.

Well I'm sure you and most the board are aware of the 50+1 rule in Germany. It ensures the fans own part of the club and makes sure you don't have a PSG/Man City situation. Fans get to elected board members and vote on ticket prices to ensure that fan culture stays true to the club. So basically Red Bull was buying clubs and pumping loads of money into them and wanted one in Germany..
Instead of establishing their own club and starting from the bottom of the football pyramid they bought the rights and league position of club in the lower levels to skip this process. They wanted to name the club Red Bull but that is strictly against league rules. So they named it RasenBallsport bullshite. Then plastered their logo over everything. They are in eastern Germany which has no first division football until now, and in a city where no one cares about football.
So b/c the rules state you need to follow the 50+1 with members. RB decided to only sell memberships at an absurd prices that almost all east Germans can not afford. Thus their membership numbers are very very low to the point pretty much only Red Bull employees are members. They have spent their way to the top much like Hoffenhiem who is also hated in Germany.
They are hated in Germany and its only going to get worse.

Honestly I don't expect most people here to understand it. Outside of the few people who support German clubs and posters who have lived in Germany. The 50+1 concept and German fan culture is just something people won't get.

Exactly, I don't expect people to understand or relate but its a huge deal to Germans.
Its like Microsoft buying the Sounders and directly paying their players. Instead of one of the CEO's buying a club and using their own money not the company's.

Wellllll, Microsoft is also a publicly traded company. Red Bull is not. Maybe it's the capitalist in me, but I don't see a problem with a private business spending their money how they see fit

At least Wolfsburg and Leverkusen were established for the factory workers to have something to do in their off time. RB is just there as a marketing tool.

Yes it is, they just did a good job of getting around them. That's why the club isn't called red bull.

That just seem a bit antiquated to me. I understand German football revolves around the club members, that's how the clubs were set up a century ago. It's 2016 though. People have their allegiances and clubs in the top few divisions for the most part aren't going anywhere. It seems it would be impossible for a new club to reach the Bundesliga from the ground up at this point. Leipzig just got on the fast track and the establishment is mad about it becaus they're stupid rich.
I understand your point of view in all honesty, supporting a German club and having lived there, I just don't personally understand the venom directed at Leipzig, and never will. It just seems like sour grapes and pettiness to me, that since this club wasn't developed in 1895 by peasants and for peasants then they don't belong

It's not what they imagined when they created the rules, but if it was against the rules then this situation wouldn't exist. Unless you are suggesting that German football is allowing RB to break the rules, then you have a bigger problem.

Well its defiantly not a club for the people. I do think a big city in east German should have a major club but the way this happened pisses everyone off.

Its just how the fan culture, passion and attachment to the club people have. Some people will say it goes against the spirit of what football is about.

TBF, 50+1 rule and the DFB financial rules are quite anti-competitive. All it does is favor Bayern. Face it, the 1.BuLi could be the best league in the world if they got rid of the bullshite. With the financial rules in place, it restricts a lot and Bayern is the only team that can capitalize on it.

that and limiting members who can decide on club affairs is pretty shitty. Even the big English clubs let their members go to board meetings and other things.
