Spurs looked halfway decent in what I saw of the match, they did a fair job of keeping United in their own end for long spells of both halves. But when United countered, they were dangerous, and when they decided to press, they were rewarded with the goal, as they undid Friedl's back line.

I thought Spurs back line looked vulnerable the entire game and if not for Brad transforming into Optimus Prime in goal it could've been 5 or 6 to nil.

tottenham took too many long shots when they could have crossed it a bit more toward a shaky de gea...

Defoe looked retarded.
Van Der Vaart had a bad game.
Lennon had a bad game.

If you don't want to be a Tottenham fan, be a Man U fan like the rest of the bandwagon mericans.

you need to support united if you want more out of your club. shite tottenham have done more with less these last few years than any other team. Making top 4 and the quarters of the champions league without any blockbuster transfer windows is extremely respectable.

really?

I think you meant from mid table to top 6

Tottenham have never been world beaters, but we haven't exactly been shite either.

You people have convincing arguments, I'll stay a Spurs fan until the next transfer period so I can hopefully see Tottenham rebound quickly from this game

Motha frickin' this!

Lennon had his typical shitty passing. Spurs had opportunities in the first half and some in the second but couldn't capitalize. If we score in the first half, I think Spurs would have pulled the draw or, at worst, a 2-1 loss. VdV looked incredibly frustrated for pretty much all of the 2nd half - especially after Lennon's folly along the goalline.

Ths biggest problems I saw offensively last night were in the passing game to create opportunities. They had guys off the ball running into position, its just that no one was looking to make the pass. There seemed to be a hesitance to pass while deferring more to the "one-timer" shots. That needs to change. I thought the touch passing around the mid-field and into the offensive side was pretty good. But, again, they need to keep possession. Some of the passes were a little half-assed resulting in Man U breaks.

Friedel played exceptionally well in goal given the circumstances. Not sure how many of those saves would have gotten through had Gomes been in goal.

Personally, in the offseason I wanted the team to deflect any offers for Modric to keep him in North London. But, his departure seems pretty much all but done. So I say get as much as you can out of Chelsea for him, and use that for a player or two to build up the attack.
