Might be too old. But I'll take it

Ferdinand, who is out of contract at Old Trafford in the summer, is understood to have spent the last two weeks weighing up his options. It’s thought that United have offered him a new one-year deal, but the defender is ready to reject that – and move to America.

The club are said to have already made advances for the former England captain – and a deal could be sealed in the coming weeks.

If he´s married, he won´t be soon.

Eh... it's the metro. Would be interesting though but I wonder if he would go there for non DP money.
Super speculation warning: maybe this is a short term solution to LA hoping Gonzalez has a stellar WC and can be sold for a nice return to some European team.

Its in United best interest for him to leave.
He's done...and has been for a year or two.

i like how MLS is getting big names, even though most of them are older and not as good, it is a good start

This.
If he goes to the MLS on a DP contract, I'll be pissed. There are many CB's in America that are as good or better than him right now.

... But they don't play for ManU and probably never will.

Agreed, but that doesn't mean Rio is deserving of a DP contract at the age and form that he is in.

He's lost a couple of steps in pace to continue on at the highest levels for very long but still has the vision and skill to carry on in the right situation for a few more years.
