There will be a new CBA next year and salaries will definitely be going up
And they still will not be on par with the average pay in Europe.

The whole point is its not going to get soooooooo much better like elite. It is what it is.
So what is our solution to make MLS improve?
Or should we just give up?

No quality coaches and proven methods certain clubs have always used.
West Ham isn't a rich club but has a dam fine youth set up.

I feel like I am trying to explain evolution to a creationist.
You crack about being more american than someone else was completely inappropriate by the way.
You still haven't addressed it.

You probably said that five years ago as well

you were a kid what 5-10 years ago? 35k is the floor. Also my friend that plays for SKC gets 35k per year but he made a lot more than that last season... also everyone on SKC got a 12k bonus last season for winning the Cup (not sure if that was an MLS thing or SKC thing though) so there are opportunities to make more than the 35k.

How much better has the MLS gotten, in terms of its quality of play, in those last 5 years?
Serious question. My opinion is that the difference is negligible at best.

So they should have more money to keep their good players?

the league has got better but its still not on par with even some of the south american leagues just on players technical abilities alone.

All I want the MLS to grow. I'm not arguing with anyone that the league will get amazing overnight. I'm not saying it's amazing right now.
But things have to start happening sometime. And they are. And that makes me happy

Maybe if they had more money they could buy Defoe back instead of him coming to Toronto
