The Premier League has revealed plans to launch its official Hall of Fame, which will recognise and celebrate the exceptional skill and talent of players who have graced the competition since its inception in 1992.

Membership of the Premier League Hall of Fame will be the highest individual honour awarded to players by the League.

The first two inductees to have their careers commemorated in the Premier League Hall of Fame will be revealed on Thursday 19 March.

I understand they just say players, but no managers either?
Sir Alex is a lock.

If they’re including managers then there are quite a few locks.

Without knowing anyone that’s in it yet, thus not knowing how liberal or difficult they’ll be with it, Aguero might be the only current player that’s a stone cold lock off the top of my head. Maybe Matic. Henderson probably gets in eventually to the chagrin of SCH. I almost wonder if the current crop gets put on the back burner for a long time though.

Dude, if Matic is getting in, there are a ton of current players who are locks

Alan Shearer is probably a good shout.
Believe his career started in '92 as well.

Give me him and Michael Owen as the first two.

There's such a long list that are worthy... but I agree with those possibly being the first two.

Curious how they're going to handle certain players who were world class but not in England for all that long

I'm thinking the first class will be Shearer and Henry, maybe Shearer and Rooney. Maybe Schmeichel and Shearer. They may not want it to be 2 forwards. If they only induct 2 per year its going to be a while before all the greats make it in.

Wenger would be another manager along with Sir Alex

Daniel Agger and Joey Barton are my predictions for the first 2

Spoiler alert. It’s going to be Bobby Moore and sir Bobby Charlton. I’m taking any and all bets against the field.
