The NCAA system works in sports that we have that are the only league or best in the world. Sports we started. MLS is never going to be that. College soccer isn’t even the same game for fricks sake.
Please name the SEC teams that have sanctioned mens soccer programs?
Now state the reason?
Hint: it is 100% Title IX
Sorry you are unable to understand this and what the sport could become without this limitation. An arms race between NCAA schools is the only thing that will ever jump start the sport.
The fan bases are already invested in the brand, the facilities already exist, rivalries are already established, leagues already in place, and the money is there.
Folks trying to reinvent the wheel just to keep the sport "theirs" is a huge problem as well

NCAA is only 3 months for most with limited practice and not even the same set of rules. Their counter parts around the world are full on professionals, playing games and practicing non stop.
Title IX has nothing to do with this, and SEC soccer isnt going to fix shite. College soccer even with the best teams is painful to watch. Adding a bunch of more programs to an already shallow talent pool will make the quality of play worse. College soccer is not the answer and to think so shows you lack any knowledge on this topic.

You have no clue what you are on about, Title IX has everything to do with it.
Do you even have a rudimentary understanding of how Title IX is administered when it comes to NCAA athletics?

Yes, but that is a very different environment and soccer is the only game in town there, it will never get funded in the US, most people just don't care enough about the sport.
What you are proposing is perfect world nonsense that has 0% chance of happening stateside, come up with something workable that beats out more NCAA involvement and you will have my attention.

The fact you think college soccer is the answer shows you don’t know what you are talking about.
Thus making the rest of your talking points invalid. You think adding a bunch of new college soccer programs after ditching title XI is absurd. All you do is dilute an already shallow talent pool. With a majority of good players as professionals already.
2-4 years of college soccer is pointless when at 18 you can be a professional with no practice restrictions hindering your development. Once again college soccer is not even the same game. It’s season is way to short, they have limits on practice and it’s not even real soccer rules. Not to mention the game is littered with non American players.

It’s embarrassing more than anything.

You can't employ the same systems as the big four leagues because the U.S. (Canada for hockey) doesn't monopolize the talent.
That's why a closed system will ultimately without organized lower divisions gathering 80-90% of the talent. It's not possible for the academies of 28 teams to gather more than 5% of the talent in a country, which has the population of Western Europe.

Lower leagues that have a glass ceiling which can put off investment.

I think it makes it easier for the next coach to get rid of some of the older players that still shouldn't have been playing and get some younger players in. Gives us time to rebuild
