One thing I don't like about NBC's coverage

Is that sometimes they just jump right into the game without any kind of setting of the table at all. Give me a stadium pan, a few words about the storyline and such. They do this somewhat with some games but IMO this aspect could use an upgrade across the board.

This usually just happens with the 11:30 game on NBC (not NBCSN's games).
I guess it's because they are on a tight schedule with that mandated Saturday morning programming.

Yeah they have a 30 minute show called premier league live. You should check it out, comes on before the matches. NBC has done an amazing Job. Usually the show runs into the players warning up and interview with sideline reporter. They do it every Saturday, Sunday and Monday before the games.

They show every EPL game without some sort of special package. England doesn't even have a TV contract like that.
I can't complain about anything they do, after that.

They're not allowed to legally.
Other places probably have more accessible coverage overall, but NBC does a good job with the Premier League.

yea its absurd, it actually just started a couple years ago
its a ploy to force people to attend matches and not watch at pubs or at home in HD.

Biggest thing for me is they play the games on live extra on the sports alternate channels, so I was able to watch every arsenal game, even if I had work. Also the presentation is much better. Just compare some of the cl games on fox. Some of the feeds are so shitty.

you do realize its the same feed all over the world
NBC or FOX doesn't have some special tv feed

Does anyone else have trouble with the on demand part of the Live Extra app? Watching the live feed on there is great but the on demand doesn't work on my iPhone/iPad. It just says "no available content" or something like that.

It's honestly my favorite thing about about the coverage. One of the reasons I've grown kinda sick of our sports is the non stop analysis and 6 freaking hours of pregame crap and manufactured drama. I love how straightforward the coverage is.

In England right now and had no clue all the games today wouldn't be on TV. Watched the Everton game in a pub figured I would find the other games elsewhere but nothing was on.

Yeah, it's pretty messed up.
I imagine it's like watching the NFL on Sundays and only having access to like 3 or 4 of the 16 or so games if you don't the NFL package.
Except they don't even have the option.

a good pub or bar will illegally stream them

I'd rather not imagine that. Sounds awful
Ridiculous in this day and age to not have every game available for your own country's league to anyone willing to fork over the dough.

in terms of HD quality its not that big of a difference
fox and nbc look like shite compared to sky though

Exactly, you can choose to watch premier league live or not. Another thing about cl I don't like. The coverage starts early and they cram 15 minutes of Heineken commercials in before the match. So the games never start when they are supposed to start.

You don't like to watch some random euro dude playing drums for some reason in the middle of the pitch?

Its hard for me to tell, anything I see from sky would be a stream, looks like complete shite. Fox you still don't get a full screen for some matches. I have just enjoyed nbcs set up after years of fox sports world, fox soccer and espn. I just figured networks had their own cameras there. Or at least NBC did, all their stuff has their logos. Is not like watching sky sports on fox soccer or ESPNfc where you can see other channels logos in the highlights.
