so bad at defending corners.. :banged:

don't think we really played bad today though... just didn't finish our chances..

I'll also add that Lallana has really stepped it up under Klopp... He's been playing well..

We really are bad at finishing. Controlled the game statistically except for shots on target and goals. Had the chances and didn't make them. We will either get better at that or klopp will bring in guys that are better at it.

Meant to add - hopefully this will quite down the top four talk. We need to concentrate on just playing hard and learning to play the way klopp wants.

It was good that we rebounded so strongly again after giving up the first goal.

I thought we were the better team... both of their goals were down to defensive blunders..

But hats off to them, they are getting the results...

So Henderson should be back for Man City, yes? And then we should be getting at least a game this month with Sturridge. And then we probably won't see him again until April.

We're clearly the superior team again. Mental lapses in defense again. Just sucks that they had absolutely zero sustained pressure and ended up winning. We're so unlucky.

Nobody is going to buy him until he has a good run of staying healthy and at that point, why would we sell?

I agree that we can't rely on him and thats why Rodgers brought in Benteke... and while I think he's a good player, I just don't think he's the best fit for the type of football Klopp wants to play..

I would be okay cutting bait with Origi... Not that I think he's bad, but he's nowhere good enough now..

he needs a loan spell to a good league where he can learn.... dude has talent, but it needs to be taught the craft...

Benteke...

like i said way long ago... Andy Carroll 2.0.... he's better with the ball at his feet, but in the end, he's an aerial target to hoof it to, and that's about it....

a good run of staying healthy

will never happen.... it's never happened in his career to this point, and i can't ever see it happening for him in the future....

He scored over 20 goals 2 seasons ago, I'll take that any time, even if it means time out of the team or him being rested more...

Benteke is a great option to have, but I can't see him wanting to play a bit part role..

I definitely think Origi should go out on loan if he stays with us, but I don't really see him being a special player... I'm waiting to see just a glimpse, but I haven't seen anything.. He just doesn't seem to have a killer instinct.. too timid.. If we decided to sell, I'd be okay with it..

for posting what we all empirically see?? benteke is not a good fit for this club, sorry... he just isn't...

and am i wrong that sturridge is perpetually hurt?? that is just the FACT of his existence for our squad, and has been for some time now...

i'm not taking a shot at the team, or klopp, or anything... i'm just stating the facts.... sorry if that offends your delicate sensibilities...

i actually am very excited about the prospect of our club moving forward... once klopp can get some pieces, we will be a force in the epl...

Can I be NegaStark?

This F'n weekend. All three of my favorite teams got beat by their own bogeyman.

'Pool to Crystal Palace (again)
LSU to Bama (again)
Saints to any rookie quarterback (again).

F it all.

We're going to be alright. I can't speak for LSU, New Orleans, or anyone else you pull for... But Liverpool will be alright.

That is the biggest thing I see. We still have defensive WTF moments, which suck and make me want to throw the remote, but offensively we are finally getting into the final third and with some consistency. Even though we are putting together nice plays to open up shots, we are just not finishing our shots. We squander our opportunities which is maddening to watch. We do need to loan out Origi and figure out a goal hungry striker quickly. Weird as it is, I wouldnt mind seeing Balo back to give him a crack at it, seeing as he will be under contract again. Defensively, we need to get another solid CB, but also hope Sakhos injury isnt too severe in the short term. Our overall play has greatly improved, especially in the midfield, and in creating opportunities in the final third, but we simply cannot capitalize on them. Its a disappointing result, but Im still positive as to where the club is headed.

Time to see if Lovren is actually terrible or if it was just the Rodgers curse. I'm going with actually terrible though unfortunately.

Yeah, that's the one knock against Sakho... he can't seem to stay healthy either.. seems like every time he's had a decent run of games, he gets injured...

granted, this is one of those freak, unavoidable types... he just landed very awkwardly..

Mother fricker.

So...

Gomez Sakho Toure Flanagan
Milner Henderson Rossiter Ibe
Ings Benteke

All out.

This is ridiculous.

Its been a nasty rash of injuries, but luckily, Ibe and Milner are both expected to be fit for our next match against City following the international break. Also, Sakho did not tear or rupture his ACL, so while he will be sidelined for a bit, he will not be out the remainder of the campaign like many feared. Sad though that we are stuck with Lovren. Hopefully he can clear his head and not be his own worst enemy, though I have little faith in that.
