Don't get me wrong, I don't think Lovren is the savior or even that good. I think he's getting way more credit that he's due just for not completely @#$@# on himself most games. But Sakho put him under a ton of pressure on Saturday, and he came up big.
In an ideal world, he'd be an ok 3/4 option at CB - espeically since he can play both sides. I would like another first XI type guy at CB.
Sakho/Matip - new partner
Sakho/Matip - Lovren
Gomez
If we went in next year with Matip as the only addition, I would feel a bit worried given Sakhos injury history and Gomez probably not rounding into form until at least December or so.

Lovren was everywhere yesterday. He literally played phenomenal outside of the 5 seconds on Kane's goal. I'm not sure he's the long term answer yet, but if he keeps playing like this, I don't see how you can say he's behind Matip and Sakho.

I was actually hoping to see Caulker at some point this season, but that doesn't look like it will happen...

He's probably had 2 outstanding performances and 10 where he didn't @#$@ in his pants.
He's definitely playing better than before. But I think he's being measured against his own @#$@ performances rather than against the standard you need a top 4 team to be at.
Sakho, on the other hand - other than when he came back too soon from injury out of necessity (since no one else was healthy) has had about 10 outstanding performances, a handful of average performances, and two stinkers. Yes, I'm aware he had a couple of other stinkers early in 2016 when he came back too soon (which i'm not counting for these purposes since I don't think he would have played ordinarily at that time if other CBs had been healthy).

I agree totally... Dejan gets too much credit for playing well, when he doesn't screw up royally... At best, he's just average..
On the other hand, Sakho can absolutely dominate a game when he's on... That said, his injury issues and ability to lay an absolute stinker (see Saturday), gives me concern long term..
That's why I think all of our CBs are expendable... Its all relative based on price.. If someone offered ~ what we paid for Sakho, I'd be really tempted to sell, due to reasons above
We've gotten our ROI on Toure and Skrtel, so they can go... Lovren cost us a pretty penny, but I'd take a 50% loss..
I'd love to sign a #1 CB... we absolutely must build our spine with GK, CB, DM and either make sure Studge is sound or get a #1 striker (which I def would do)

No, he was brought in for cover during our injury crisis... I imagine Klopp would rather just go with players on our books than a loanee...
He's seen more time at CF, rather than CB for us

I love Sakho. And I hated Lovren just as much as the next guy, but since Klopp has taken over, I'd argue that Lovren has been better than Sakho as a whole.

I think both Toure, and Skrtel are gone this summer. With Matip coming in, and Gomez coming back from injury I doubt we bring in that #1 CB. Hell, we might just keep Toure on if wages are low enough. Just because he's such a positive influence in the club.
I think GK is actually our biggest need this summer. We absolutely must sign a top PL keeper. And Simon should be kept as the number 2.
Lastly, I think a lot of people are expecting to buy and sell a ton of players this summer, and I just don't believe that will be the case. We're honestly not too far off from challenging for top 4 right now. I think we're only a couple high quality players away from possibly winning the league.

I think GK, LB, DM, Attacking Mid ( Mario?) and striker maybe Lacazette in a perfect world! I believe those are the targeted positions but I still get the feeling he has bigger plans than we all think for some reason.

GK: Ter Stegen
LB: no idea here
DM: Xhaka
AM: Gotze, this isn't really a need imo- deepest spot on the squad
ST: Lacazette would be amazing. Batshuayi is an option I've seen thrown around. Chicharito was rumored a few weeks ago as a potential target.
We need wingers much more than attacking mids and forwards (unless we sell Sturridge)
Again though, not sure what our viable options would be, I haven't seen many rumors on wingers (Reus may never leave Dortmund)

We got the same ref as the United match. He's given 10 yellows and a red in his last two matches.

Be ready for him to miss a lot of games to suspensions.

Yea those weren't predictions or wishlists as much as rumor mill names that had been linked with us.
As far as priority goes I'd put it like this
GK
CB
LB
Winger
DM
ST
AM

GK
LB/RB (one guy who can play both - ala Gomez but with more experience)
Winger
DM
CB
ST
AM
I really want someone to pair with Can in the midfield who is an absolute destroyer, but who can also place a pass. Marco Verratti would do the trick (not that we could land him).

Agree with this one... And if the Ter Stegen rumors are true and we keep Migs as our #2, I'd be pretty happy with it

yeah, that'll work out well.... i'm sure his confidence after being demoted because of poor play will just be sky high...
if we bring someone in at GK, he's gotta go... he won't be worth the price we'll have him for....
it's time to cut bait with plenty from the BR era, and we all know it... some will be bittersweet... some are overdue.... but all in all to move forward we can't dwell on the past... be glad we have a leader with a vision, let's just hope that we can afford it and they are willing to pay up for quality, which is sorely lacking at this point....

Granit in Red playing for Klopp would be a damn atomic bomb. I get that he will get cards but the will's he would destroy would be glorious. Imagine that monster rampaging around Anfield in a deafening roar as Klopp is losing it in the box.

All top teams need at least a decent backup keeper. Unless you're suggesting we sign two, we have to keep Migs on.

i totally understand that, but we aren't playing FIFA... IRL, he'd likely be pretty checked out and lacking any confidence that comes along being 1st team if he were to stay along for the ride.... Bogdan is more than capable of being our 2nd.... Mignolet is not a quality keeper.... sure, he'd make a good 2nd keeper, but not on the same team that just demoted him and is forcing him to sit behind his replacement...
it's like chaperoning your ex-gf to prom.... i just don't think it's a good idea... we need a new keeper, and he needs a fresh start elsewhere... it's best for us, overall, tbh...

He's not.
Besides, Migs just signed a long term extension. He's here to stay whether we like it or not.
