I know Klopp wants to invest very little in January and use the season to evaluate the squad (that and very little value in Jan)... but surely he sees the need to overhaul a few key areas... just not good enough...

Not sure if it was nerves, but Bogdan's performance had me wishing for Brad fricking Jones between the sticks... I thought he's looked okay when he's played in cup matches, so far... He did have that one nice save at his near post..

I'll be honest, I haven't really watched Watford much this year but credit where due... I was kinda surprised they were were they were at in the table before our match (they snuck up on me)... They impressed me today..
That said, we looked terrible... not much to analyze here IMO... move the frick on.. as far away as possible..

I'm not off the klopp train or anything, but this is about as disappointing of a result as I can imagine.
I mean - this is a season defining stretch of three games. We picked up one point from Newcastle, west brom and watford. I no long expect any finish - only that klopp improve over time and identify the players that aren't good enough.
I assume bogdan starting means klopp thinks that neither is good enough.

Migs was hurt...
This should absolutely be our expectations, but its hard not to get ahead of ourselves when you see the crap ahead of us in the table.. Obviously, in January we can change those expectations if he decides to buy... but I expect a minimal out lay based only on need due to injuries...

We're a bad team.
-We have zero quality goalkeepers. Haven't had a decent keeper since 2010.
-Firmino is rubbish, except for that one match.
-Benteke is wasted on this team.
-Lallana is half-amazing, half-Adam Lallana.
-Lucas has been shite his last 2 appearances.
-Skrtel is way to inconsistent for me. He's a problem.
-Milner tries to do too much. He's kind of rubbish.
-Can is half-amazing, half bad. He also tries to do too much.
We have no identity. No leadership. Does anyone even know what our best formation/best xi is?
I get it. It's going to take time, Klopp is figuring things out. But maybe pick a fricking formation, and just go with it?
So if health and fitness is the key (re: LCFC, Watford, etc), then maybe we should poach their entire medical staff, and pay them whatever they want?
I say spend all the money this January. Let the rest of this atrocious season be a constant experiment. As long as we aren't relegated, I don't care anymore. Maybe in August we will have more of an idea of how to score goals and win fricking football matches.

Edit: Spend as much money as it takes to bring in one the best goalkeeper that money can buy. Throw the goddamn bank at him.

Ive seen too much quality out of Firmino over the last couple of seasons, to think he won't come good... It may take some time, but I'm willing to wait...
Ideally, Can would not be a automatic first teamer.. He is still young with lots to learn.. Also, you gotta consider he never really played center mid for us last season..
Skrtel and Lucas need to move on (I could live with both as squad players, but they prob make too much money for that)... This has been long over due..

Meursault - my only problem with your thoughts is that everyone listed is better or at worst equal to the watford player. So a 3-0 beat down makes no sense purely from a player perspective.
I do think "character" is a huge issue still - our guys are lacking in many ways.
