Yeah but hopefully he's motivated to play rather than to earn a paycheck. He may just need a change of scenery to restart his career. He's 29 so he's not done yet.

He hasn't had much competition at RB, and he knows that, so hopefully our *future* signings can push him in the right direction.

I'm not certain we need to sell Glenn, but if we feel we have sufficient coverage at both outside backs, and we can get 4m for him (and importantly his wages off our books) I would be ok with it.

With all our games though I'm not certain we have coverage. If we have two RB and two LB, on injury at RB and we're suddenly in some trouble. Enrique can't play RB. Don't know about Moreno. I sure as hell don't want Kelley out there.

To be sure, Glenn is way to expensive per week to just be coverage, and his play is nowhere near the level of his wages, but does anyone remember Brad Smith coming on for the Chelsea game in December and Teixeira a few games later?

I thought he was very good and IMO the Jovetic goal was more the ball just falling at his feet... not much Seba could do there... but he showed good positioning and made some key clearances early on..

He isn't perfect and he def lacks pace... Jovetic will make a few defenders look bad if he stays healthy..

The late tackle was bad, but I'll just chalk that up to maybe late on in the game and him lacking fitness, coming off his ACL tear...

Not saying I'm ready for him to start, but if Agger leaves, I would be OK letting him and Toure battle it out for our 4th/5th CB position..

On Coates, you're one of the few posters I generally defer to as I think you know a good bit more than me and aren't just full of @#$#@ or hot air.

Rodgers Heaped some praise on Caotes the other day.

I still think he leaves a lot of open space around due to his lack of pace, and would not want to see him starting with Toure and/or Kelley against any team with athletic players.

I think he makes up for the lack of pace with good positioning usually. Agreed that him, Toure, and Kelly all starting together would be a nightmare against any team with some semblance of pace, but like I said earlier, I'd be perfectly ok with him being our 4th or 5th CB if he wants to stay

Pics from Charlotte have looked outstanding!

All the usual Journos reporting manquillo will have his medical on Monday ahead of a 2 year loan deal with £5mm option to buy... Moreno talks are advancing too

Sturridge has flown home for treatment on his hamstring... Rodgers says nothing serious and should be ready for Dortmund next weekend...

We definitely need to sign another striker... DS body will not hold up for a whole season in 4 competitions...

Transfer Update ?@TransferLatests 3m
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is interested in signing AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli and could make a £14m bid. (Express)

I've seen quite a few of the Journos that are on this US tour say unequivocally, that we have no interest in him and that "story" is coming from Rodgers praise before the match...

I'm no expert on transfer value but I'm about 99 percent sure 14 won't buy a player of mario 's potential.

Maybe not, but that's been the price (~£14-15mm) suggested in the media since Italy crashed out of the World Cup...

If that was the case, I don't know if he is worth the trouble... Though there is that small part of me that would be very intrigued to see him in a red shirt...

It's not his antics that would worry me, it's his apathetic play, at times, that would be intolerable... His talent is unquestioned IMO

Watching Malaga/West Ham and Luis Alberto has scored a goal and then drew and missed a PK.. Aspas also scored for Seville yesterday... Hope they both play well and we can at least get our money back next summer...
