It sure seems there is a gulf between the quality of players we are bringing in and the teams we are attempting to jump. If I hear the word hybrid again I think I'm going to dive off the CCC.

Reportedly we bid £10m for Nathaniel Clyne which was rejected by Southampton

LOL.
"We just need one more Southampton player!"

Also, pretty sure I read somewhere yesterday that Slavio has/had a knee injury which threw a wrench into the transfer talks.

Y'all need to go back in for Konoplyanka.

I'd love Clyne, but probably not for the money SOTOn will ask for... probably better value on the continent.

Better value than Lovren and Lallana?
No way.

We've also apparently made an improved bid for Kovacic
Posted on 5/29/15 at 10:32 am to tsmi136
I'll take him for sure.
We are such an undesirable destination though. Why would anyone want to come play for us? We have nothing to offer essentially.

Yep. Kovacic said something along the lines of he would only leave if a more attractive bigger club came along.
That is not us. Although I think if you change Rodgers for Klopp that changes things.
One can only wish

cheap fricks
If Lovern was 20, Southampton will take yall to the cleaners for him.

I mean he was kinda rated highly at the time by some...
But yea, after that shite show and Lallana for 25. frick me.
This is going to be the longest summer ever if they keep Rodgers around.

It's depressing. I had to fall in love with Liverpool.

It was like this after Rafa and Torres.
Then we got Suarez.
Then he left..
Need someone mercurial because we cannot keep shooting ourselves in the foot like this.

No it's not, either BR gets better or he's toast by December. At that point we would have to go all in for somebody that can turn this thing around. I mean who else would you want to support in the Premier League? I have always liked Soton, evidently so does my manager. Too bad he ruins their players when he gets them.

I agree Hog and I think that guy could be Klopp as our manager.
Posted on 5/29/15 at 3:48 pm to JackVincennes
Count me in as supporting hog's statement along with Jacky there. We DO have a lot of talent, it just happens to be young talent. Best way to produce with young and inexperienced talent? Manage the shite out of them. Something Rodgers doesn't seem to be able to do.
I guarantee a guy like Klopp would produce results, nearly immediately.

One thing about some of these guys like lacazette and Kovacic is that with the influx in tv money, our wage structure may change and allow us to tempt some foreign guys who may otherwise not have come. Of course that means wages across the board will go up too.
I think Brendan can do wonders for a young squad - but klopp is definitely a better choice. I really think Brendan had some bad luck, bad transfers (not entirely his own doing) and stubborn moments this year. Then He tinkered in all the wrong ways and moments towards the end of the year - and didn't tinker with what he should have.

I didn't realize Clyne was on the last year of his deal, may not be too far off with our initial bid... He would be rock at RB for the next 6-7 years...
