At least this happened now instead of after the next window. We were going to be selling Sakho so now we just have a little more business to take care of.

I just think without Europe, we''ll be fine with Bobby, Studge and Origi... we can always re-evaluate in Jan and def the summer..
I just think at his age and ability, he deserves first team football somewhere

Disappointed to see the Ings injury. I'm curious if this combined with Studge's (reported) unhappiness at not being first choice will prompt Klopp to move Studge in January as opposed to the summer.

I'd imagine, provided we are still in the thick of it, there wont be too many comings and goings in Jan.. maybe a reinforcement here and there.. I guess we'll also have to see if there are more injuries between now and then..
To your point, I think this injury to Ings means Studge is going nowhere in Jan.

Have to completely agree. We need the depth. Origi and Firmino both missed over a month of the season last year. You need at least 3 or so guys that can play that position for depth. No Ings = Studge has to stay.

I was really looking forward to Ings around the 70 mark. TBH I thought that was going to happen sooner rather than later. Unfortunately if he has 2 bad knees this early who knows if he will ever be as effective? I hope we stick with the guy, I think if he doesn't lose too much pace from these injuries that he could be a real asset as to where we are going at this club.

Michael Edwards has been appointed "Sporting Director" which is a glorified Director of Football.
Reading some of the journos - he's the main man behind identifying and selecting Firmino, Can, etc.
Klopp is fully in support of him moving up. He'll be taking over the football side of things from Ian Ayre. Klopp will retain final say in deals though.
Klopp has always worked under a system like this, and he's commented on it a few times since he came over, so its not a big surprise to me that they've hired someone to do it. While in some ways I would prefer a more experienced guy - if we're really just going to follow Klopp anyway and Klopp likes how Edwards goes about things, I am on board. Besides, he apparently has a pretty good track record of identifying players that should come into the team.
TL:DR - Even though there's still a committee, now there is no reason to ever have to hear someone talk about the committee again

Yeah, I think it was a given that when Ian Ayre announced he was stepping down, this would be the model the organization would go with...
It's the structure Rodgers refused to work under, but the way clubs are run on the continent..
I guess we'll find out if he's the man for the job..

I hate it for Ings, but this is a great opportunity for Brooks Lennon.

Is he a CF?
Posted on 11/5/16 at 12:38 pm to TFTC
I think he's more of a winger but he's played some forward like when Ings has trained with the first team
I could be wrong though

I know woodburn and wilson were wingers, but was drawing a blank on lennon..
Posted on 11/5/16 at 12:49 pm to TFTC
Truly, I think he can play anywhere on a front 3, but I seem to recall him playing more out wide due to his pace
Posted on 11/5/16 at 12:52 pm to TheZaba
yeah, I was just doing a little reading up... not prototypical CF, but could possibly grow into one I suppose... I just realized he was American
frick me!

This is the stretch that we decide what team we will be in 2017 (Top v Top 4). We need a :hugs: emoticon for match day.
