Seent a report of Canos' fee being 2.5M, so I added that. Off to Norwich City.

With a buyback and a sell on clause. This is Barca level business.

Its great business - not really a loan, but retains some control over the situation. Yes, the sale price may have been a bit lower than we could have recouped, but having the option to buy him again should we become good is hard to put a price on.

Apparently we've accepted a £15mm fee from Bournemouth for Ibe.. He is free to negotiate personal terms..

Haven't heard if there is a buyback..

I'd love to keep him and give him some more time to learn because he's so young, but that's a really good price for him right now.

Wonder if we could put a buy back clause in his contract too.

I'm torn about this one. Buy back would be great. But Perhaps Klopp has seen enough to think he just doesn't have it. Or he's seen enough of Ojo, Mane and Markovic to think that Ibe just isn't going to cut it out of that group.

That's how I'm feeling. He's still so young and he definitely has more potential, but if Klopp thinks he doesn't fit or he has better options now, then so be it. And at that price, I can't be mad. If it was for like £4m, that'd be a different story.

The Reds have also covered themselves in the event of Ibe blossoming significantly over the coming years with an option to buy him back or a share of any future transfer fee.

Anyone else feel we're conducting much better transfer business this year than in years past?

FSG have definitely gotten better at selling. Now we just need to get better buying. Wasn't sure if it was mentioned earlier in the thread but here is a great place to start from Tony Barrett's twitter - "Less than nine months after he joined them, Liverpool are ready to hand Jurgen Klopp a new long term contract. Talks are underway."

I read that one of the big motivators for locking him down long term is that FSG is quietly shopping the club. Any potential buyer would want to ensure that its big name manager is tied down for the long haul.

well, let's be honest here.... it's not like the bar was set very high by the previous manager...

and i like the Ibe deal... of course, we all sorta figured he'd blossom and become sort of a Sterling story too, but he got lost in the shuffle and tbh, i'm more excited about Ojo than Ibe, at this point.... add Markovic coming back, and yeah, Ibe just doesn't cut it right now...

i feel we have a strike force, now, to get goals and play with pace.... now we need defenders to protect the net and maintain possession....

Would not be shocked if after the Main Stand is completed FSG sells for a billion.

I'm wondering why we haven't been sold yet if FSG is actually interested in selling. Not saying they aren't, but I'd think that if they were, the incoming ownership would want as much time as possible to stock up players and build for success THIS season. With the way ManUre is loading up on talent, that potential new ownership would be tard-ish not to.

If they sell to a Sheikh, Russian or Chinese businessman, I would imagine whichever group it is would come in with an open checkbook and still manage to bring in the studs. As much shite as I've given my Mancunian (City) coworker for being owned by hadji's, I sure wouldn't mind that influx of cash with Klopp at the helm.
