This unfortunately doesn't surprise me. This is what, the third manager who fricked him off for disciplinary problems (not including Rodgers)?

yeah, I love Sakho and thought he was going to be the rock in a re-made back line... but at this point, I don't see a way back... I hope he shines on loan, commands a nice fee and we move on..
Sakho wasn't a world class defender, was prone to mistakes and injuries... He can be upgraded, though I thought he was good enough to win big with and afforded us to spend elsewhere...

Mamadou Sakho faces uncertain future at #LFC after being sent home from tour of America by Jurgen Klopp
Hmmmm...
Bump. You can tell how pissed Klopp is under the surface in the video. Beginning of the end for Mama.

From the article on his move to LFC
quote:
His attitude, a lack of discipline including poor dieting habits and fractious relationships with certain members of staff, particularly in the early days, put his future at the club in jeopardy a long time ago. Many of his coaches were unhappy with his unprofessional demeanour, peaking with a nasty altercation with a journalist regarding his social habits, and PSG actually almost got rid of him as a teenager. However, at that time Sakho focused enough on his football to stay, although he arguably never embraced being a true professional.

Sucks to lose a talent like Sakho, even if he does play like a newborn giraffe on roller skates.
This is the first I have heard of anything like this, which should be seen as a positive reflection on the club for being able to keep such things under wraps. I'm also glad we have staff who have made it priority to clean house of potential toxic personalities. Fair play to Klopp.
Gotta grow up sometime.

I will give Klopp time to mold the club like he pleases. That means he needs to have players on and off the pitch that he trusts (Is Stu listening?). I am just amazed that Sakho would blow this, let's hope that he gets his act together but I feel that we'll have a replacement by the start of next year.

So he's decided to stay and play with the reserves this season I guess. Because I doubt he plays with the first team again, even if two of our 3 CBs go down with injury.

Well, he did walk out of Anfield on gameday that one time when he was left off the team sheet by Rodgers..
He apologized and not a big deal was made of it..

Word is he's decided to stay and fight for his place. I'd be floored if he ever plays for the club again.

Well I give him small props for taking the righteous path, but why the heck didnt he take it earlier?

https://www.thisisanfield.com/2016/08/mamadou-sakho-klopp-finds-similar-problems-ancelotti-blanc/
quote:
“Under Antoine Kombouare, himself a former PSG player, he was indispensable,” Johnson recalled.
“But once Carlo Ancelotti replaced the Frenchman, he disagreed and benched Sakho before eventually stripping him of the captaincy.”
This came due to a number of “character flaws” in Sakho’s makeup, with Johnson lambasting “his attitude, a lack of discipline including poor dieting habits and fractious relationships with certain members of staff.”
“He arguably never embraced being a true professional,” Johnson continued, later adding “not only was he exempt from criticism when it perhaps would have done him some good, but he was staunchly defended by the club and especially the fans.”
“The underlying belief is that neither Ancelotti nor [Laurent] Blanc rated Sakho as serious or reliable enough to lead PSG to the glory they seek,” he explained.
quote:
Perhaps most tellingly, Johnson concluded that “in essence, he needs to grow up,” and this serves as a parallel to his current situation under Klopp.
As Johnson recalls, Sakho experienced weight problems, concerns over his attitude and disagreements with coaches, which are all issues that have arisen during his time at Liverpool.

Balotelli gone on a free...
AC Milan totally fricked us on that deal. At least we got his wages off the books

Free or on loan? If free, I need to update the OP...

Well, that sucks. Money-wise, I mean. Glad to have him gone.
I really hope we have another signing or two in us. I hate that we are so inept at the LB position.

The window's over for us
Not a bad window except I think Wijnaldum was a stretch and no LB, but that's beating a dead horse. Other than that we spent pretty well and cut a lot of dead weight.

Truth to the freeing up of cash. I just am concerned about the season if we keep the square peg/round hole concept up at that position.
Also playing Hendo a lot is beginning to scare me.

I'm just trying to trust the process
Not much else we can do. And hope we stay healthy

Dortmund wasn't built in 3/4 of a year. I'll start questioning shite 2 years from now if things are not different. I have a feeling they will be.
