We either need to buy Lacazette or move on to someone else. It seems like he's been a target as long as I've been following LFC and it's gotten tiring.

Di Marzio says our new LB target is Napoli Faouzi Ghoulam. He is usually at least more plugged into Serie A but still take with a grain of salt.

You CANNOT help but get excited with the Salah-VVD double talk. It sure looks like we have turned it up a notch, in years passed the City counter would have buried us and we would have turned to a lesser player. Now if we can just get the Arda Turan rumors started.......

If we can have a Turan-Lacazette transfer rumor week I might get flashbacks that BR is still our manager.

Apparently, Southampton wants the league to investigate is for tapping up VVD.

I'm sure everything's on the up and up (or I certainly hope so)... sounds like they're just mad at losing another player to us

They can get fricked. This is not how you treat loyal customers

I think pretty much any transfer has some degree of tapping up... I don't think anything will come of it..

From what I understand, Southhampton is just reacting to their fans displeasure at continually selling their best players, etc. (we're annoyed that Barca is sniffing around Cou a few years after Suarez, imagine it was every year) Since he's been rumored for months, I can't believe there was any tapping up that really happened because surely everyone has gotten permission to talk to him. No reason not to if the rumors are already out there. Purely face saving/negotiating going on by Southhampton.
One thing I'm a fan of - there are transfer target rumors all over the place now - I love to keep the media guessing and hope we bring in a Mane/Gini player without the media attention suddenly.

Seems likely that Salah may move to Liverpool (though rumors, at least in Rome, have it that Liverpool may be interested in Keita Balde from Lazio as a second option if the price is too high for Salah.)
Salah would be tough to lose for Roma but it seems he likely wants the move and the club probably needs to sell someone to add some more cash for bringing in 4-5 more good players this summer since depth was an issue last year and they'll likely try to do that without touching the defense or midfield if possible.
Salah is a lot better than when he first arrived in Italy mainly because he's gotten a lot better at setting up the striker when he gets into space on the counter whereas he was pretty wasteful when he first arrived.
However, much of that coincided with Dzeko playing well and getting into those positions instead of formations with a "false nine" and less of a fixed target in the box.
He's not the best at breaking down packed defenses but he doesn't lose the ball nearly as much now trying to dribble into impossible spaces. He is, by far, best in broken field situations (which seems to bode well for the EPL style).
Some stats sites rank his defensive contribution as weak but I think that's mainly because Roma set up to have him always waiting to run in behind defenses when the ball was turned over. He got a lot of praise from both managers for the amount of times he sprinted back 100 meters to break up a counter.
Salah only plays on the right wing (or right side off striker in the 3-4-1-2) effectively though and he seemed extremely out of place when he first arrived and Roma were in habit of switching the front three fluidly with Perrotti or Totti as a false 9 anytime he was on the left.
If Liverpool is interested, it must mean Klopp would try Sane on the left.
Overall, though he's a player I really like a lot since, talent aside, he's kind of a no nonsense, no drama guy that always works hard.
His "pace" too isn't just the normal fast guy but Gervinho-esque where you often see him get to long balls where the CB has a 15 foot head start.

I think Mane was only on the right for us, because of Coutinho's right foot(on the left)... he's played plenty on the left in previous teams...
Pallotta was on Sirius XM this morning and he basically said Roma needed to sell to buy for FFP reasons.. At least that's how I interpreted it.. He declined comment on Salah...
I love when he comes on that show... he's a pretty funny guy... Seems you all will be much better off once that new stadium is in place..

Yeah, the stadium will make an immense difference but the current issue is becuase they flamed out of the CL playoffs with 3 red cards.
Roma need an infusion of cash before the end of June (which is the FFP accounting date) to avoid a penalty.
Then they can spend 3 times as much as that the rest of the summer since CL will cover that before the next accounting period. FFP is pretty odd.
The only problem for Liverpool in negotiation is that while while Monchi probably prefers to move Salah, Paredes or Rudiger or a couple of youth players would have the same effect in feeding FFP.

I suspect it's more just trying to play the "we have other options if we need" card

I would take him as a consolation in a heartbeat... maybe over Salah.. though I like Salah's production Goals/assists...
I like Balde as well, but he's been playing more through the middle this season... He may a striker option??
The other dude seems wayyyyy more of a reach... and no way for he 50mm price tag..

Southampton trying to play hardball now. Supposedly they want £75m for VVD. No idea how this will play out now, but if they actually do try to hold out for that much, we should move on.

Negative. How about they take what is already on the table and we don't put their shite show of a tapping claim on blast?
Either take 60M and be fine or ask more, get nothing, and get skull-dragged through the international media.
