Nola people, are you watching the World Cup at Rendevous or Finn's?

I figured Rendevous since it's the official bar for AO Nola but some people may prefer Finn's since that's where a lot of people watch the EPL games.

This may be a weird concept for you to grip, Joe, so hold on to your seat.

They may have these things called "friends" they want to hang out with.

I won't be at Finn's for US games.

Mrs. Sheep needs to be in a smoke free environment at the moment.

I will probably go by myself the first or second Saturday, though.

We should have a SBGT that first Saturday.

I know 3rd Coast Soccer is partnering up with Mannings in NOLA. Should be a good time maybe get some gear/schwag while boozing.

In BR, I'll be anchoring and bartending the varsity for all of our WC matches.

The good thing about this World Cup is that all of the games are in the afternoons or primetime, so almost every sports bar should be showing them. With that said, how can anyone in NOLA not take Finn's if they have a choice?

I'm definitely an at home guy. It's hard to follow the game at a bar. Too much going on.

Crowd?

It was nuts to butts for the Gold Cup Final last year, and the AC was struggling. Not exactly a pleasant experience.

Was it crowded last world cup for U.S. games?

The snowpocalypse game was like this. I left at halftime. No bueno. Went to Tracy's for the US/Mex qualifier. Lots of space. I wish AONola had chosen that place. Tons of seating and decent food with a bunch of nicely placed TVs.

Don't they setup tents on the street for big games? I know that's not the real "Finn's experience", but that would still be a great crowd to join for a game.

Fire Marshall was there.. so yes. They will set up screens and bars outside this year for sure.
