So, what are the predictions for Torres' future? Did that goal break the slump or will he continue to suck? A lot depends on who Chelsea hires as manager, of course.

He'll continue to suck. To me it looks like he has lost a lot of pace.

It's just one goal. An important one nonetheless. I hope he can turn it around and score a few more. If he scores in the final then we can talk.

This question comes up everytime he scores... so exactly 4 times

Bho, you are a moron. He was five yards in to the other half of the pitch, and looked to have received offside.

Not high and mighty, just have to reply to, and sometimes condemn, mindless EPL drivel.

Real football is nonsense to the ignorant, I realize, and accept that. Nevertheless, I shall continue my sublime evangelization of you heathen.

Real football

???

So are you of the opinion that only real american football is played at places like Okie State, Oregon, Green Bay, New Orleans, etc, where they play more high powered offense than teams like San Francisco 49er's, Bama, Steelers, etc?

There's more than one way to play the game.

Come on Dandy. When he received it he was clearly at midfield. Which means when the ball was played to him, he was in his own half.

I have not rewatched it, I only saw him coming back for the ball from the other side of midfield.

If he received in his half, then he kicked it forward, recouped, and then went forward again? Is that what happened?

I was at the match today and it was fricking awesome. He is back! Just in time for the most important part of the season.

Match on Wednesday is huge. If Chelsea does not win the Champions League Title against Bayern, they must finish fourth to qualify for next year's Champions League. They must win Wednesday against Newcastle to have any chance of finishing 4th in the table.

I think they made an exception for a fifth place reigning Champion's League champion Liverpool, but that it would not happen again.

Someone on this board surely knows, but I don't think a fifth or worse Chelsea, Champion's League champ or not, would get in.

Awesome match to be at! How electric was the Bridge's atmosphere? I was there for the 3-3 Man u collapse game BUT it was an amazing experience I will never forget.

Bring on Newcastle at the Bridge!!! Best to just go ahead and qualify for CL through the regular season AND win the CL trophy so no one can bitch about us not belonging I'm Europe next year.

Well, it was just QPR, who is likely to get relegated. But, being a west London club, and with the controversy involving Terry and Ferdinand, it was more spirited than normal. Most of us were shocked that Chelsea could score 4 goals in the first 25 minutes with the constant rain that occurred in the first half.

I live in London (expat assignment) about 10 minutes from the stadium and have been fortunate to attend most of the games this year. I was at the same one you mention, when that Mexican (his name is not worth mentioning) scored the final goal to give Manu the tie after Howard Webb gave them their first 2 goals.

Yes, I am hoping we finish 4th so that there is less pressure on Chelsea in CL final. The Prem League season ends the week before the CL final. So, Chelsea will know going into the match whether it is a must win for CL next year. (Chelsea has qualified for the CL every year that is has existed.)

If we we were to finish 5th, it would be awesome if Spurs finished 4th and we won the CL and bumped them from the 4th EPL Champions League slot.

There was a one-time exception allowing five English clubs into the CL

Now, the fourth place team must give up their spot to the CL champion

Chelsea gets in if they win

I don't actually enjoy watching Joey Barton play

He's more fun when he's threatening pseudo-reality television stars on twitter
