I get it. Lol. That goes both ways though. Both fan bases got a show at the other's expense in successive seasons. Just another run in the life of the rivalry.

Serious question. Do clubs HAVE to spend big purses from the sale of a superstar immediately? Like are there major tax implications over there to hold on to that money for a bit until you can maybe make a run for someone a little closer to the original guy you sold?

I know it's 20/20 but seems like liverpool could've essentially finished where they did without bringing in really any of those guys. Once they missed on Alexis, it seemed somewhat scatterbrained.

Moyes was a proven top flight manger. Rodgers got fired from Reading

Moyes will never get you where you want to go. He's a proven PL manager, but only if you want to be 5-10 in the table. He finished 4th once in 10 years? Am I remembering that right?

Rodgers may not either, and absent a top 5 player in the world may also not get you higher than 5th - but the jury is out and he has at least one great year to his resume. Thats more than Moyes in all of his years.

That being said, BR lost it this year. Bad tactical decisions, made repeatedly. Things every Liverpool fan could see weren't working were still trotted out there game after game.

His ego and his mouth will buy him a world of ridicule right now - comments about ManU, Tottenham, defense, etc. - and he deserves it completely.

I'd still pick BR over Moyes, but its certainly not a no-brainer and frankly, I'd beg for a third option right now.

Rodgers still finished higher in the league than Moyes ever did... What is their head to head record? I'd be curious to know that...

I'd go with BR personally, I think he has a higher ceiling.. but I think both are out of their depth at this level... Like Ive said in the LFC thread, BR may one day come good, but we aren't on the job training and he has lost whatever momentum he had after last season...

edit: Hell, Moyes had more points far along into last season than LVG did at the same point this season... With the amount of £ he spent this past summer, you'd think it would buy/tactical genius more than an 8 point swing..

Moyes made the once mighty united supporters satisfied to cross the finish line, leaking oil, finishing fourth... in a very down league... what a legacy!

You'll get no arguments about BR from me... He was in such a good place to kick on, but his ego was massively out of control this season and it has showed in all aspects of his life (though I don't particularly care about his personal life)..

edit: he needs to be knocked down a peg and I'd be disappointed in FSG if they don't give him his walking papers...

I've always liked Moyes. He's a good manager for the most part.

Did you watch us other than the little 13 game unbeaten run? Even during that we looked like shite.

He literally rode the coat tails off one of the greatest individual premier league seasons ever and still fricked up and didn't win shite in the end.

To Moyes credit, ManUs team was shite. He had a bunch of geezer hangovers on 100k wages that didn't give two shits. He spent a little money but nothing spectacular. His biggest buy was one of their best players this season.

They're both about equal but Moyes has a more proven track record.

Rodgers totally bottled this season and should be sacked. Not a single one of his buys had a good season and the team has given up on him.
