Their season preview podcast said this week that the premiere would be after the first weekend of the season, if I remember correctly.

They've got Eriksen guesting on it, too.

I just got a notification an hour ago that today's podcast is up. Haven't listened yet though.

NBC is really fricking up a good thing this season with all the changes to their PL coverage.

Meh, did you really expect them to keep the extra matches free forever?

Even paying for them, the coverage is far superior to Fox (oh and let's not get started on a one time fee vs. monthly)

Uh, "free"? I have to pay for a cable subscription in order to view them. I was already paying for them.

Then don't pay for the streaming fee and only watch the games on TV... I only pay $35 for my "cable" (which isn't really cable at all), so paying $40 one time to watch all the EPL I can handle is fine with me... My point was this isn't a surprise and didn't ruin everything (in fact if they handle it right it could help make the NBC product better)

At least make it a package so I don't have to watch on my computer or via your shitty app (and can continue watching it through uverse/xfinity/whatever like a civilized American).

It's inferior in every way to being able to watch TV through a cable provider.

I think that's true for most every streaming system ever. However, as far as streaming options go, NBC Sports Live Extra is pretty decent. The big stats graphs are pretty cool.

Beats Fox by a mile for sure.

Glad to hear it, as it sounds like there won't be an alternative to it. My limited experiences are when I'm on my phone on the way to somewhere, and it has been very hit or miss (but that could also be prior versions, coverage issues, etc.).
