Few observations from the first match.
Southampton the first 50 mins for sure looked like team which was gutted and with a new manager but they grew into the game as it went along and in the second half pretty much out played Liverpool.
Liverpool the first 30 mins looked good but once Southampton started getting pressure on their back four they could not handle it. It is def clear they are trying to figure out how to play with out their best player who was able to carry them and his goals could mask the issues in the back most the season. Sterling was class as usual out there but other than that no one stood out. ( As I type this he is sky Man of the Match
)
Liverpool is lucky that Southampton could not convert bc they could have easy lost 3-2. Extremely poor in the back and Manquillo does not look ready for this level. This isn't playing for the reserves in the Spain anymore.

Glad we persevered in the end and got the three points... Hopefully, Lucas and Johnson will be out if the starting lineup moving forward and we'll kick on and let the new guys settle in... Bit of a tough first stretch, but I think we'll be fine.

I got in a few minutes late and missed the ceremony before the match honoring the two supporters killed on MH17. I was listening on my iPhone @ the 17th minute tribute.
I just reversed my DVR to watch the pregame moment of silence.
Sad stuff.
I would like to think that LSU would do something like that for a regular fan (not a big wig TAF guy) who died in a tragedy like that.
