Last attack of the half, Arsenal fell asleep, and despite absolutely dominating all half they are now at a huge disadvantage.

Guess we will be seeing Gabriel again.

Arsenal have to lead the league in match altering red cards. The entire red card rule is such an absurd premise.

Harsh red, but 100% a pen.

I agree with pen, but a red? Seriously. Its pouring rain.

I think most people agree removing the double jeopadry rule has been a good change for the game overall. Luiz just got caught out with a letter of the law scenario on this one.

At a minimum they need to completely eliminate the last man double jeopardy red unless it’s for violent conduct. It’s just an absolutely absurd way to essentially decide a game.

But really the whole rule is absurd, a relic of a by gone era where going a man down wasn’t that big a deal. It’s like if the nba had never adopted a shot clock. It just makes zero sporting sense

Anytime you play Luiz, you take a risk of going down to 10 men. It was unfortunate, but he fell asleep, tried to make up ground, and tripped up the forward, even though it seemed accidental.

Gabriel time.

Arsenal have 8 red cards since arteta was appointed manager. Next closest epl team has 3 in that time span.

For an inherently subjective call, that’s unacceptable from epl officiating.

The decision of a red wasn't subjective whatsoever. (Don't confuse this with the decision of a foul.)

It was a DOGSO scenario and Luiz did not attempt to play the ball. The laws of the game give the ref very little wiggle room, if any at all, not to show a red in this scenario. It's either no foul whatsoever or a red. No inbetween for this case.

Maybe I’m crazy, but I vehemently disagree.

- David Luiz now has 3 times as many red cards for Arsenal as he did for Chelsea, in 184 less games.

- Willian has 0 goals in 22 Arsenal appearances.

this is just plain wrong. Luiz has been one of our best players recently. fricking Jose’s studs clipped Luiz’s knee cap by a millimeter and then Jose did his best lebron impression. How anyone can blame this on Luiz is beyond me.

Meanwhile Sheffield United comes back on West Brom... a great day for Wolves fans

But Wolves needs to score while it’s 11 v 9, goal difference might be big in the relegation battle
