Will he?

On the positive. At least it’s not Southgate.

And we have a couple tournaments to prepare.

Hopefully are players get to clubs to get game time and stay healthy.

I feel the culture of the players is fantastic. I think their ability to stay in tough through technology regardless of where they are playing is cool.

You can’t seriously think Zidane would ever consider coaching the USMNT

If we have poor showings in Copa America next year and in the Confederations Gold Cup in 25, he will be fired.

Wishful thinking.
He would have to lose the players to be fired before the World Cup, and they will all be too afraid to piss him off because they know he might go air their dirty laundry “off the record” and blackball them, so he won’t lose them.
He’s a dishonest POS and US Soccer is a lame organization, but keep defending all of them.

They hired him to coach the World Cup again, because in their view, he did plenty good getting out of a weak-arse group, scoring three total goals, and getting embarrassed by a middling Dutch team.

I can’t believe y’all have talked yourselves back into defending him after that shitshow. “I would bet any amount of money he isn’t rehired”. Uh huh.

Charlie Davies nailed it at halftime and schooled Kate Abdo on the issues with the equity with the women (and then after a commercial break and I’m sure a producer in his ear had to walk it back a bit)

blackball

Weird way to describe not playing a player who refuses to practice (and still playing him anyway) but ok.

For what it’s worth I know someone who was at Qatar (like, in the team camp) and the opinion of those in said camp is that Berhalter went above and beyond, giving Gio multiple opportunities to fix his putrid behavior, then protecting Gio from the media, only to have it blow up in his face in an unfortunate way. This person also blamed Earnie Stewart for not nipping the Reyna stuff in the bud back when Claudio was screaming about Gio needing first class flights as a 15 year old. I can’t disclose who this person is, but you’ve seen them on TV and they are 100% legit.

I keep seeing comments about how there is some USSF rule that the women’s coach must be paid the same as the men’s coach, and that fricked our chances at landing a bigger name. Is there any truth to that?

Seems like it’s been debated. I listened to the GGG “introductory” press conference and Crocker said there weren’t any limits to what they were willing to spend. Others, like Davies, suggest that no, we can’t actually spend that much money because our women’s coach only gets 450k per year and the optics would be terrible given the USWNT’s recent “equality” push. My personal take is that they would have been willing to break the bank for a Guardiola or Mourinho but no one on that level was interested in the job.

I doubt there is any legally binding document saying we can’t have a pay disparity for coaches. It’s more of a they are scared of potential consequences thing. It’s an a completely inept federation

Davies comments were trying to pull something out of his a$$ to help make an excuse for the feds handling of this shite show.

There is no legal precedent to follow, but we all know the shite storm the women and the media would then conjure up. It was stupid over the equal pay for them and it would be equally stupid here. Without looking it up I’m willing to be my our women’s coach is top 5 paid in the world. So he’s paid what the market dictates.
